The two men were sentenced to death after they were convicted of drug-smuggling offences, and have spent a decade behind bars while campaigners fought for clemency from the Indonesian government.

Stars including Pearce, Rush and Edgerton have all backed the Save Our Boys drive, a last-minute effort to convince Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott to step in and stop the execution.

In a video filmed for the Save Our Boys campaign, Oscar-nominated actor Rush says, "I'm an Australian and I stand for mercy", while Pearce and The Great Gatsby star Edgerton both add, "I stand for mercy".

Other actors featured in the video include fellow Aussie stars Bryan Brown and Brendan Cowell.
