So that’s what ‘consciously uncoupled’ exes do.
Has Chris Martin just moved in across the street from Gwyneth?
US Weekly reports that the Coldplay frontman has purchased a 7,700-square-foot, five-bedroom, seven-bathroom home in Brentwood, California, for the pricey sum of $6.75 million. The property is thought to be situated directly across the street from ex Gwyneth, whose mother Blythe Danner is even said to have helped Chris move in.
Charlie Mortdecai may be rude, arrogant and distinctly unlikeable, but he's also a terribly rich English art dealer with a drop dead gorgeous wife, charming looks and a trusty man servant. He has been enlisted to uncover a painting, lost for decades and containing a top secret code that leads to a hidden bank account inside which is mounds of Nazi currency. It is with much apprehension on the part of Inspector Martland that Mortdecai become involved, with him being notoriously overt and extremely moronic. But he is happy to help with the recovery, travelling to various corners of the world and dazzling those he meets along the way. However, he has a lot to face on his journey - from MI5 to terrorists and his wife's repeated questions.

Everything seems clear on the Paltrow/Martin front.
Conscious uncoupling or not, there may still be hope for Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin – in the friendship department, at least. Multiple sources, including Us Weekly, report that the pair looked completely at ease with one another, when they attended the premiere of Hector and the Search of Happiness on Monday, July 28, in East Hampton.
Post-separation, Patrow and Martin are keeping things civil and even friendly.
The former couple reportedly stuck together throughout the event and the afterparty.
In her latest post on Goop, the 41 year-old actress suggested that the structure of water can be altered through the negative thoughts of a human being.
Gwyneth Paltrow has put her foot in her moth once again.
In recent months the 41 year-old actress has managed to attract a lot of haters due to several controversial comments she has made. But Paltrow's latest observation is just flat out bizarre.
The 'Iron-Man' star posted a statement on her lifestyle website, Goop, about the intriguing qualities of water, claiming the compound has the ability to feel negativity.

Poor Gwyn can't keep herself away from the tabloids' scorn.
Gwyneth Paltrow has yet again found herself in the midst of a sea of derision over comments she has made about...well, life. Obviously there was the whole "conscious uncoupling" debacle, then there was the time she compared her internet struggles to real life war and then the constant use of ingredients like "mint flavored liquid chlorophyll" in recipes on her lifestyle blog, Goop.
The latest controversy? It's another Goop goof: after Gwyneth used her blog to announce her split from Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, all eyes have been on her online journal for more developments. This time, the 41 year-old Iron Man star talks about "the energy of consciousness" and suggests that water may be a sentient element with feelings.
"I am fascinated by the growing science behind the energy of consciousness and its effects on matter," Paltrow writes. "I have long had Dr. Emoto's coffee table book on how negativity changes the structure of water, how the molecules behave differently depending on the words or music being expressed around it," she adds, citing the work of Dr. Sadeghi, an entrepreneur who has been widely criticized for his theories.

Was Gwyneth Paltrow's comment disrespectful? John McCain's wife weighs in.
Gwyneth Paltrow’s PR blunder is just getting worse and worse. After Paltrow was slammed by an actual green beret for comparing Twitter hate to being at war, Cindy McCain has taken aim at the actress, too. McCain, the wife of Senator John McCain, who is himself a decorated veteran, had this to say to Paltrow, in 140 characters or less:
Gweneth Paltrow is a joke. Her life is like taking bullets for a soldier. What a joke! My 2 sons serving in the military should talk to her.— Cindy McCain (@cindymccain) May 29, 2014

Inan open letter to the Hollywood actress, Green Beret Bryan Sikes tells her: "A long line at Starbucks, your driver being 3 minutes late, a scuff mark on your $1,200 shoes and a mean tweet do not constitute difficulty in the eyes of a soldier."
Gwyneth Paltrow received lots of criticism as of late for her recent controversial comments, comparing online abuse she sustains to fighting in a war.
The Hollywood actress has already been publically slammed by Cindy MCCain, the wife of former U.S. Presidential candidate and Vietnam War vet John MCCain, but now an actual soldier wants his say.
When speaking about being subjected to daily abuse online, Paltrow said: "It's almost like how, in war, you go through this bloody, dehumanising thing, and then something is defined out of it. My hope is, as we get out of it, we'll reach the next level of conscience."
Gwyneth Paltrow said social media was like war. Then an actual soldier stepped in.
Gwyneth Paltrow’s recent talk at a tech conference earlier in the week might have been completely well meaning, but it resulted in one of the biggest PR blunders of the year so far. When Paltrow compared coming across online hate to the experience of being at war, you can bet a whole lot of people were offended. A quote from Paltrow’s talk, as published by Page Six, goes: “You come across [online comments] about yourself and about your friends, and it’s a very dehumanizing thing … It’s almost like how, in war, you go through this bloody, dehumanizing thing, and then something is defined out of it.”
No, Gwyneth Paltrow, it definitely isnt the same thing.
It’s easy to see why people would question this – particularly people, who have actually served in the military and actually fought in real-life wars. One of Paltrow’s most vocal critics was Sergeant First Class Bryan Sikes, who suffered a broken neck and back in a 2008 IED explosion in Afghanistan. Here are some choice quotes from Sikes’ scathing critique, published on The Clash Daily: “I can only imagine the difficulty of waking up in a 12,000 square foot Hollywood home and having your assistant retrieve your iPhone, only to see that the battery is low and someone on twitter (the social media concept that you and all of your friends contribute to on an hourly basis to feed your ego and narcissistic ways), has written a mean word or 2 about you. You’ve hit the nail on the head, war is exactly like that. You should receive a medal for the burden you have carried on your shoulders due to these meanies on social media.”
A member of the US armed forces has spoken out against Gwyneth Paltrow's comments, published on Monday (26th May), where she likened the dangers of internet trolling to being in a war.
Cindy McCain is not the only person to have been offended by Gwyneth Paltrow's comments, published on Monday, in which she likened the dangers of internet trolls to war.
Gwyneth Paltrow made the comments at a technology conference on Monday.
In an interview with Clashdaily, a website and talk show which seemingly prides itself on being as butch as possible, Green Beret Bryan Sykes described the horrors he witnessed and endured whilst enlisted in the US military in Iraq. Surely such an interview would raise awareness of the destructive nature of war, the deep psychological impact combat has on those serving in the military and the reasons behind the conflict in Iraq and Afghanistan?

Two Oscar winning actress have this week cause outrage with their choice of comparatives while discussing their online experiences.
While speaking to tech site Re/Code on Tuesday (25th), Gwyneth Paltrow chose to liken reading negative comments about herself online to war. Then, days later, Charlize Theron caused outrage when she compared her experiences of Googling herself to rape in an interview with Sky News. Unsurprisingly both actresses' comments have been met with a furore of online backlash with many asking how the two women could be so insensitive.
Charlize's comments have caused outrage in recent days
Paltrow said on Tuesday,”You come across [online comments] about yourself and your friends, and it’s a very dehumanising thing.” Adding “It’s almost like how, in war, you go through this bloody, dehumanising thing, and then something is defined out of it. My hope is, as we get out of it, we’ll reach the next level of conscience."
Gwyneth Paltrow's comments in which she compared - in a figurative fashion - the trials of war to coping with the onslaught of comments made by internet trolls. Cindy McCain, wife of US Senator John McCain, rushed to the defence of the US troops and claimed Paltrow "is a joke" on Twitter.
Perhaps making comments in which you compare the traumas of celebrity with being enrolled in the armed forces isn't the best idea around Memorial Day. But Gwyneth Paltrow wasn't remotely perturbed and blundered through a minefield (sorry Mrs McCain) of press questions at a technology conference held on Monday (27th May). The 41-year-old actress compared the constant threat of internet trolls with the prospect of going to war.
Gwyneth Paltrow compared her enduring troll comments to being at war.
Paltrow was describing the difficulties of seeing negative comments and deliberately hurtful remarks posted online, especially as she is such a high profile figure. The Iron Man actress told the assembled press, as Re-Code reports, how the barrage of comments was "almost like how, in war, you go through this bloody, dehumanizing thing, and then something is defined out of it."

Has Chris Martin's personal life influenced his band's new record a little too much?
The release of Coldplay's sixth studio album, Ghost Stories, is imminent. We already know that the British indie rockers have embarked on a sleeker, more electronic sound for their new record thanks to singles 'Midnight' and 'Magic' but must turn to early critics to find out the verdict on the entire nine song collection.
The Release Of Coldplay's 'Ghost Stories' Is Just Around The Corner.
Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on whether you take the view that all publicity is good publicity), the new album will land at a time that is a little too close to the very public "conscious uncoupling" of Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and his wife, Gwyneth Paltrow.
Coldplay extended a tribute to Sir Mick Jagger at a show earlier this week.
Coldplay spread the love to fellow rocker Mick Jagger Rolling Stones on Monday. During Coldplay’s show in New York City on Monday, May 5, Chris Martin seemed to give his condolences to The Rolling Stones frontman over the death of his partner L’Wren Scott. Scott, who committed suicide in March, had dated Jagger since 2001. From the stage, Martin simply said: “This is for Mick Jagger.”
The song, which includes lyrics like: "When tears come streaming down your face/ When you lose something you can't replace/ When you love someone and it goes to waste/ Could it be worse?" made for a pointed tribute to the tragedy.
Martin stuck up for his fellow musician.

Chris Martin has opened up to Radio 1's Zane Lowe regarding his split from Oscar-winning actress, Gwyneth Paltrow.
Chris Martin has confirmed that his new single, Magic, was written about the breakdown of his relationship with Gwyneth Paltrow. The couple, who had been married for ten years, decided to end their marriage in March, announcing their “conscious uncoupling” on Paltrow’s website GOOP.
Chris Martin seems to imply that his split was Paltrow was his fault
For the first time since the split was revealed, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has spoken out. In a Radio 1 interview with Zane Lowe, Martin seemed to imply that the split was his fault. Martin told Lowe, “What changed for me was - I don’t want to go through life being scared of it, being scared of love, being scared of rejection, being scared of failure. Ever since our band came out, we have been a very polarising group because we do a certain thing very well…About two years ago I was a mess really because I can’t enjoy the thing that we are good at and I can’t enjoy the great things about me because I’m burdened by this - I’ve got to not blame anyone else and make some changes.”

Naya Rivera and Big Sean have called time on their engagement (and apparently he's telling time on her Rolex). These other once engaged celebs also never made it down the aisle.
The most shocking break up news of the week goes to Glee star Naya Rivera and now ex-fiancee Big Sean. The pair have called it quits amid rumours of infidelity and Rolex theft. Naya tweeted “@bigsean stealing rolexes from a lady’s house now. Maybe cuz I’m on Glee and making more money or something. #triflin.” Although the tweet was quickly removed, the plot is definitely thickening.
Naya Rivera and Big Sean have called time on their relationship
These others celebs also decided to end their very high profile engagements, although none of them accused each other of stealing expensive watches. Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck AKA Bennifer were a bit of an odd couple to even begin with. In 2003 the couple were involved in an extremely high profile relationship, going so far as to co-star in a couple of god awful movies. The engagement was broken off in 2004, allegedly because Ben wasn’t ready to give up single life. Which makes sense because a year later he married Jennifer Garner. Burnnnnn.

Yep, you heard right. Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin allegedly had an "uncoupling ceremony", what on earth does that mean?
So, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin allegedly took their decision to ‘consciously uncouple’ one step further, if that’s even possible. The pair are said to have asked a Kabbalah Rabbi to officiate an ‘uncoupling ceremony’ for the pair, which took place during their ‘break-up-moon’ in the Bahamas. We’ll ask pretty much the same question here that we asked when Gwyneth announced their split on her website GOOP. What the heck is an ‘uncoupling ceremony’? It sounds like some sort of hippy exorcism.
Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin announced the end of their marriage two weeks ago
The rabbi supposedly officiated the ceremony, which the couple chose to have on a beach in the Bahamas. They were instructed to read from a sacred book, light a fire and throw stones in to the sea. The stones were meant to symbolise the solidity of their relationship, while throwing them in the sea represented their “wandering spirits”. We’ve got to admit, as crazy as it sounds, it also sounds pretty Paltrow, so we're sort of inclined to believe there's a bit of truth to it.

Blythe Danner reportedly "loves Chris" and attempted to convince her daughter not to end their ten year marriage.
But it seems its affecting other members of the family as well.
Paltrow's mother, actress Blythe Danner, is devastated that they have called it a day on their marriage, according to Us Weekly.
Working mothers are shocked that the 41 year-old actress insinuated having a 9-5 office job makes raising children much more easier.
Gwyneth Paltrow's separation from Chris Martin hasn't just affected their household.
The 41 year-old actress inadvertently made working moms very angry after making comments about raising children with a 9-5 office job.
In an interview with E!News, which took place a week before her and Martin's split, Paltrow insinuated working moms have a much easier job raising children than she does.
Amid rumours of affairs and planned family trips to the Bahamas, Chris Martin's father claims his son's split from actress Gwyneth Paltrow is "amicable".

Gwyneth Paltrow had high profile relationships long before she met Chris Martin.
We were all surprised when Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin announced their separation by way of a post on Paltrow’s Goop website on Tuesday evening. The couple, who have been married for 10 years and had two children together announced they were ‘consciously uncoupling’, and thus the showbiz world began mourning another high profile couple. But for Gwyneth a high profile split is nothing new, actually she’s had her fair share of famous romances.
Gwyneth Paltrow has announced her 'uncoupling' from Chris Martin
Before there was Chris and before there was Angelina, Hollywood’s hottest couple was Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow. Although now the two might seem like an unlikely pairing, back in the mid nighties they were the hot couple of the moment. These two set out to define the era for star couples, sporting matching cropped blonde hair and sometimes even matching outfits, (too far). They even got engaged! Although they might have seem like a young Hollywood dream come true, sadly it wasn't to be and they split in 1997 after three years of dating. Gwyneth would later take responsibility for the break up, telling Diana Sawyer ‘My kind of internal stuff really tripped up that whole relationship and I felt really responsible, and also like I was the architect of my own misery … I just made a big mess out of it.’.
Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin don't even divorce like normal people, why have they chosen to "consciously uncouple" instead?
We have a sneaking suspicion that it was Gwyneth Paltrow, and not Chris Martin, who decided to label their separation a "conscious uncoupling". Why, you ask? Well, come on, it’s just a Paltrow thing to do.
Gwyneth Paltrow has labeled her divorce a "conscious uncoupling"
The couple have decided to split after over a decade of marriage. We have to admit, we are rather sad about the news, in the world of unexpected unions they stood for a bridging of normality and celebrity, although it turns out that the two worlds really were just too far apart. The pair released a statement, explaining, “It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate. We have been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of separated, to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate.”

"We have been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of it separated, to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate," the Anglo-American couple added. They moved on to stress that they wouldn't fall out of each other's lives due to their need to be the best parents to their children, Moses, 7, and Apple, 9.
The celebrity couple, who publically announced their relationship as come to an end, reassured that they will remain close: "We are, however, and always will be a family."

Kate Winslet has named her new baby son Bear Blaze, but some of these other celebrity baby names are even more out of the ordinary.
Children of celebrities never have to go to normal schools where the other children will make fun of their wacky names, which means that the stars can go wild when naming their pampered offspring. There must be schools in Beverly Hills teaming with Donatello Zeuses and Princess Bananaramas.
You don’t come across many Janes or Johns in the celeb baby world, but funnily there seems to be a few Bears going around at the moment. Kate Winslet and Alicia Silverstone both have sons called Bear, although to set mini Winslet apart his middle name is Blaze, as a reminder of the house fire that his parents first met in. Romantic. As a side note, Winslet's husband changed his own name to Ned RocknRoll, so we're not surprised that the couple have chosen a name that is a little less out of the ordinary.

So Gywneth Paltrow can sing as well as act?
You might think that in Gwyneth Paltrow’s household it's her husband Chris Martin who can hold a tune, but you’d be surprised. Aside from her career as an A-list Hollywood actress, Gwyneth is pretty keen to let the world know she can sing as well . Tonight the actress will be reprising her guest role in 'Glee' as substitute teacher Holly Holiday in the show's 100th episode, where'll she'll sing a cover of Pharrell's 'Happy'. So can Gwyneth sing? Well she's only too 'Happy' to let everybody hear she can.
Gwyneth Paltrow will guest star in 'Glee's' 100th episode
Gwyneth first let the world in on her hidden talent in the 2000 film ‘Duets’ , directed by her father. Here she sang a rendition of Smokey Robinson’s ‘Crusin’, which would appear on the film’s soundtrack. The song was released as a single and even reached the number 1 spot on the Australian charts. The success was followed up with a cover of Kim Carnes 80's hit ‘Bette Davis Eyes’ which went to number 3. Her next on screen singing spot came in the movie ‘Infamous’, about the life of writer Truman Capote. Paltrow took a small part in the film to show off her singing skills, as a nightclub singer who performs Ella Fitzgerald's ‘What Is That Thing Called Love’.

Gwyneth Paltrow was notably absent from the Vanity Fair post-Oscars party, is the star still waging war against the magazine?
Remember when Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter said that Gwyneth Paltrow had ‘forced [his] hand’ and that the magazine would definitely run a tell-all piece on the star? Well, in the end...they didn’t. Gwyneth spent months publicly battling the publication, even turning to her long list of loyal celebrity friends requesting that they didn’t aid the article in any way by answering any of their questions.
We'd thought that Gywneth's war against Vanity Fair was over
Paltrow, who is married to Coldplay frontman, Chris Martin, apparently wrote to her celeb mates: "If you are asked for quotes or comments, please decline. Also, I recommend you all never do this magazine again". Pretty harsh words there, Gwyneth. We can’t help but wonder what dirty secrets it was the magazine had on her that she was so desperate to keep quiet. We guess we’ll never know now. Don’t worry though Gwyneth, we won’t do a Jezebel and offer $10,000 for the info.

From time to time the Oscar's can deliver some pretty major upsets.
There’s just days to go until this year’s Oscars and everybody is naming their predictions for all of the big categories. But before you put your money down on what you’ve been told is a sure winner you might want to remember that sometimes the Oscars can throw up a massive upset. Take these 10 cases for example.
‘How Green Was My Valley’ beats ‘Citizen Kane’ (1942)
‘Citizen Kane’ may often top polls as the greatest film of all time, but back in 1942 the academy didn't even think it was the greatest movie of that year. The film about a Welsh coal mining family at the turn of the century starred Maureen O’Hara and took the Oscar over Orson Welles' masterpiece. It also took the Best Director and Best Actor Awards, beating Welles in both categories.

Graydon Carter compared the actress to the North Korean dictator following a controversy.

Gwyneth Paltrow is the subject of an upcoming 'takedown' piece by Vanity Fair.
Vanity Fair editor-in-chief Graydon Carter has confirmed that his magazine is set to publishing a blockbuster takedown of actress Gwyneth Paltrow.
"We started a story on her," he told The Times in an interview published this weekend. "We have a very good writer and it'll run."
The Margin Call actress had previously emailed friends warning them not to cooperate with the author of the piece - which apparently reveals the 'true' Paltrow - though Carter and his writer appear to have more than enough information to run the piece. In fact, the actress's tantrum has made him even more determined to run the article, saying, "Well, she sort of forced my hand."

Even if we've never been to a 12-step meeting, an intelligent script and sharp performances help us see ourselves in these characters and situations. The film may sometimes get a little preachy, but writer-turned-director Blumberg (The Kids Are All Right) strikes a terrific balance between comedy and drama.
At the centre is Adam (Ruffalo), who has just passed the five year mark in his battle against sex addiction. His sponsor Mike (Robbins) is proud of him, but he and his wife (Richardson) have their own issues since their ex-addict son (Fugit) has just returned home. Meanwhile, Adam is sponsoring Neil (Gad), who was court-ordered to attend rehab and doesn't take his addiction seriously until he gets to know Dede (Moore aka P!nk), a fellow rebel in the group. Then out in the real world Adam meets Phoebe (Paltrow) and has an instant spark of attraction. But as their relationship develops, he knows he'll have to tell her about his addiction.
The script is very tightly constructed to explore the topic from several angles through a handful of characters and sideplots. But while this may feel a bit tidy, Blumberg keeps everything grounded in honest experience. So the comedy is edgy and surprising, while the dramas avoid the usual cliches, never going quite where we expect them to as Blumberg and the cast explore the deep flaws all of these people have. So we can cheer for their small victories and sympathise with their failures. And each actor is excellent.

The comic and talk show host engaged in thoughtful conversation about the wrongs of technology and sadness in a brilliant interview on last night's 'Conan'
Louis C.K. is a man who has yet to be won over by the 'benefits' of modern-day, tech-friendly living. The comic appeared on Conan to discuss his disdain towards a tech-friendly lifestyle, taking aim in particular to smartphones and their negative affect on kids.
Louis C.K. is angry!
"I think these things are toxic, especially for kids," he told host Conan O'Brien on Thursday's (19 Sept.) show. "They don't look at people when they talk to them and they don't build empathy. You know, kids are mean, and it's 'cause they're trying it out. They look at a kid and they go, 'you're fat,' and then they see the kid's face scrunch up and they go, 'oh, that doesn't feel good to make a person do that.' But they got to start with doing the mean thing. But when they write 'you're fat,' then they just go, 'mmm, that was fun, I like that."

It's a film about sex addicts - so sort of like 'Shame' - but funny, apparently.
Apparently being voted as the sexiest woman alive has given Gwyneth Paltrow just the confidence she needed, because the actress is now stripping down in a trailer for her new movie Thanks for Sharing, USA Today reports. Well, don’t get too excited – Paltrow strips down to some fancy lingerie and of course, everything is kept PG.
Check out the Thanks for Sharing trailer.
Gwyneth Paltrow's underwear will be the most talked about moment from the 'Thanks for Sharing' trailer - though the film could turn out to be pretty decent.
Ok so this happened. Gywneth's Paltrow's underwear, well, lingerie, is on full show in the trailer for her new movie 'Thanks for Sharing,' about three people who undergo a 12-step treatment to cure sex addiction. The 40-year-old wife of Coldplay's Chris Martin strips down to her smalls in the new clip which rolled out online on Wednesday (June 26, 2013).
Gywneth Paltrow At The Iron Man 3 Premiere - She Plays Pepper Potts In The Movies
Obviously you may have better things to do than watching Paltrow parading about in lingerie, but just in case you don't, the trailer's below. The comedy-drama also stars Tim Robbins (Shawshank Redemption), Josh Gad (Book of Mormon), Mark Ruffalo (Zodiac) Joely Richardson (Nip/Tuck), Carol Kane (Annie Hall) and the pop-star Pink.
Robert Downey Jr., who plays the role of Tony Stark/Iron Man in Marvel's Iron Man and Avengers film franchises, has signed up for at least two more Avengers films.
After rumours had circulated that Robert Downey Jr. wouldn't be involved in any more Avengers films due to contract issues, an announcement was made on Marvel's website this week that put our collective minds at ease. It read: "Marvel is pleased to announce the signing of Robert Downey, Jr. to reprise the role of the 'billionaire, genius, playboy, philanthropist.'"
The 48 year-old actor has signed a two-picture deal that will see him don the red and gold suit as least two more times in the Avengers films. Downey's co-star in the films, Gwyneth Paltrow, who plays love interest Pepper Potts explained how it just wouldn't be right for anyone else to take over from Downey Jr. in the franchise: "Personally, I think it would be very hard for someone to step into Iron Man, because it is so Robert."
The success of the first film could have been a deciding factor for the Manhattan-born actor after reportedly earning $50 million (£33m) from the first Avengers film alone. According to Marvel, the first of the Avengers films - 2012's Avengers Assemble - and this year's Iron Man 3 are ranked currently in the top five highest grossing films to date, with collective worldwide earnings of over $2.7 billion (£1.7bn).

Watch out Britain, Gwyneth Paltrow could be bringing her Californian cuisine to your shores!
Gwyneth Paltrow says she is planning to open a healthy eating restaurant in London to bring some of her Californian cooking to UK shores. The Hollywood actress, currently starring as Pepper Potts in Iron Man 3, unveiled her business plan after trying out her techniques on husband Chris Martin, of British rockers Coldplay.
"I would make a Californian pop-up restaurant in London with all the healthy salads from the book and tuna burgers, salmon burgers and tacos," the Metro quoted her as saying. "He was focused on eating well to prepare for the tour, so I started developing these recipes. Nothing processed and nothing toxic, but still delicious. And that's how the book came about. It came out of a need in a very organic way."
The blonde actress recently came under fire after it emerged that she had banned her children, Apple, 9, and Moses, 7, from eating carbs, though she explains it isn't as draconian as many people assume, saying, "Sometimes the kids want a cookie and that's fine. But my son has eczema and gluten is really irritating to his skin, so when I can, I'll do quinoa pasta or risotto with brown rice, and I notice such a difference in all my family's health and mood and skin."

Cher's visit to The Ellen DeGeneres Show this week was definitely a family affair.
Cher stopped by Ellen yesterday to have for a chat about her life, her career and her son Chaz. Not before a quick outfit change for Ellen though, as it turned out she and Cher were wearing the same thing! Ok, they weren’t really, the whole thing was a gag by Ellen to tease her iconic guest’s appearance. On the day before, the talk show host tweeted a digitally altered image of Cher’s body in her infamous sequined bodysuit, but with Ellen’s head, instead of her own, The Daily Mail reports. Ah, the magic of image-altering software! The sailor hat was a nice touch as well.
The gags were set aside during Cher’s actual visit though, as she, her 86-year-old mother 86-year-old mother Georgia Holt and her 61-year-old half-sister Georganne LaPiere talked to Ellen about the coming out story of Cher’s son, Chaz Bono. Apparently Chaz didn’t go the traditional route and instead came out to his grandmother first, with Cher being the last one to find out that her son was gay.
'That's a big deal to come out to the grandmother,' DeGeneres said.

Changing the writer and director for this third Iron Man movie turns out to be the best thing that could have happened, because Shane Black is a much more focussed filmmaker, and he gives this franchise a badly needed kick. We know that he and Downey work well together (see Kiss Kiss Bang Bang), but we could never have anticipated how Black would bring clarity to Downey's comical riffs. He also makes the action scenes much more human, and therefore a lot more thrilling.
The story takes place in the overall Marvel chronology. Wealthy arms manufacturer Tony Stark (Downey) is feeling badly shaken by his experience working with the Avengers to fight off an alien invasion. So he dives into his work and neglects his relationship with Pepper (Paltrow), who also runs his company. Then two faces from the past reappear: bio-scientist Maya (Hall) is an old colleague of Tony's, while technical genius Aldrich (Pearce) has a past with Pepper. And both seem somehow connected to a wave of nasty bombings that is terrorising America, masterminded by a menacing man who calls himself the Mandarin (Kingsley). And the Mandarin's next target is Tony.
Intriguingly, the script keeps Tony out of the Iron Man suit for much of the film's running time, which makes his character feel much more grounded than ever before. It also makes the action set pieces even more spectacular, since they're not mere robot-vs-robot animated battles. So even if the dialog is peppered with technical gibberish, at least it has a personal dimension. Which not only deepens Tony and Pepper as characters, but makes the surrounding people more interesting. These include Tony's old pal (Cheadle), two self-healing goons (Dale and Szostak) and a pre-teen (Simpkins) who helps Tony. And with his constantly surprising character, Kingsley very nearly steals the show.

Gwyneth Paltrow says it's "very sweet"
Not only did Gwynteth Paltrow beat Beyoncé this year for People Magazine’s Most Beautiful woman, but last year’s winner wasn’t even on the list! Anyway, according to Paltrow, it’s not even true.
The actress credits her looks to a healthy and active lifestyle.
Gwyneth Paltrow has taken the crown from Beyonce as People’s most most beautiful woman of 2013. It’s the fourth time the 40-year-old actress has been featured in the special “Most Beautiful People” issue of the magazine, but she takes the top spot for the very first time. Paltrow, who is a mother of two, claims it is all due to her five-day-a-week workout regimen and her commitment to staying healthy.
"It makes me look younger and feel strong," Paltrow told the magazine. "When I first started, I thought, 'I'll never be good at this. This is a nightmare!' But now it's like brushing my teeth, I just do it."
This news comes right before the release of Iron Man 3, in which Paltrow reprises her role as Pepper Potts – a character, who is meant to be not only younger than her, but also quite active. The role looks to be physically demanding, so whatever Paltrow is doing, it’s obviously working.
The actress is all about the quality time with family these days.
Actress Kate Hudson attended the Tiffany & Co. Blue Book Ball in New York City yesterday. Hudson wore a blue strapless Reem Acra number, and hung out with pals Sarah Jessica Parker and Gwyneth Paltrow. At the bash, Hudson also talked plans about her 34th birthday celebration. The actress explained for Us Weekly that she’d prefer a small gathering at home with close friends: "I think I might have a dinner at some point this week," Hudson said of her low-key plans. "I just want to hang with my family."
She also predicted the gift she might receive from her 9-year-old son, Ryder – it might be jewelry, but a far cry from a glitzy Tiffany piece: "Ryder makes things, so he's made me this beautiful tree out of sticks, and he took shells and painted them and made them the leaves of the tree. He's quite an artist, so he made me and painted butterflies and gave them to me," she said of past presents. "And he likes to make me jewelry. He's made me some bracelets that are just adorable!"
Kate has been keeping it casual around her boys, but she glammed up for the ball last night.

Chris Martin likes to cook in silence, so when he's out, the wife turns up the gangsta rap
Now, we all know that Gwyneth Paltrow is a good mother. We know this because she waxes lyrical about not feeding her children terribly nasty things like carbohydrates and such like and she writes books about her fastidious approach to feeding her sprogs. We also know this because she names her children after really healthy things, like Apples. However, in her latest interview with the Evening Standard, Gwyneth went to great lengths to explain that she is also a “bad mutha,” when she pleases.
Gwyneth explained that she takes the opportunity, when hubby Chris Martin (of Coldplay) is out of the house, to crank up the hip-hop and says she’s a dab-hand at rapping along with the genre’s finest. Chris prefers to cook in silence, it seems but that’s not Paltrow’s way. No sir. ““He can’t have background music on: it has to be 100 per cent of his attention. But if he isn’t at home, I turn on the hip-hop — I’m like a bad mutha rapping along to every word as I cook.” We’re struggling to imagine Gwynnie churning out verses like a gangster, so we’re just going to take her word for it, in the apparent absence of any YouTube proof.
Paltrow has just published a new cookbook entitled It’s All Good: Delicious, Easy Recipes That Will Make You Look Good and Feel Great. She makes it sound so easy (we’re not convinced).
Tony Stark may have the woman of his dreams, the technological skills of a genius and the ability to save the world from the occasional threatening force, but he's starting to realise that he's not entirely invincible. Unable to sleep and distracted by feelings of guilt, he is forced to reassess his ability to defend himself and his people as his formidable adversary Mandarin threatens to dismantle his life piece by piece. As he watches his life's work burn before his eyes, he is left only with his inner strength and resourcefulness to have a chance at destroying Mandarin once and for all. For the first time, Stark is feeling very vulnerable as he struggles to come to terms with himself as just Tony Stark rather than the supposedly indestructible Iron Man.
