Gwyneth Paltrow thinks she missed out on a Golden Globe nomination because her movie 'Country Song' was put in the drama category and not musical.

The 38-year-old actress - who plays a fallen country singer named Kelly Canter in the well-received Shana Feste-directed project - feels it is "one of those things" she wasn't nominated for a prize, but said she was pleased for the other stars who were up for an award.

She told Access Hollywood: "You know, it's just one of those things, you know, what are you going to do? It's like you can't control the way things go.

"I think they put the movie in the drama category instead of the musical category so I guess it was just, you know. It was a good year for lots of people."

Among the stars nominated in the Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama category are Nicole Kidman for 'Rabbit Hole' and Jennifer Lawrence for 'Winter's Bone'.

However, the movie didn't miss out completely on a nomination - it was noted in the Best Original Song category for the piece 'Coming Home'.
