Gwyneth Paltrow's philosophy is to never hide anything ''under the rug''.

The Oscar winning actress recently starred in comedy 'Thanks for Sharing' and says its title is close to her personal views on how to deal with the people around her.

She told TV show Entertainment Tonight: ''My personal philosophy in life is that the more you shove under the rug, the more damage you do to yourself.

''My doctor has this saying, 'What you reveal, you heal' and I really subscribe to that.

''I think that the more that you are willing to reveal to yourself what your damage is, what your pain is, what your truth is, the more you're able to really flourish as a human being.''

Gwyneth also sees the key to her successful marriage to Coldplay rocker Chris Martin - with whom she has children Apple, nine, and Moses, seven - is down to clear communication between them.

She has previously said: ''I have little kids in school. I want to maintain my marriage and my family, so I have to be here when he comes home.

''[Then] if I'm in Los Angeles for three days working, he does the school run, its always one of us.''
