Hailee Steinfeld is in talks to star in 'Ten Thousand Saints'.

The 17-year-old actress is currently in negotiations to play a pregnant teenager named Eliza in the adaptation of Eleanor Henderson's 2011 novel, which is set in 1980s New York City.

The movie follows Jude, who moves in with his hippy father in the Big Apple after his best friend Teddy overdoses on drugs.

However, things take a turn for the worse when it is revealed Eliza is carrying Teddy's unborn child and she leans on Jude and her brother Johnny for support, according to Deadline.

Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini, who are Acadmy Award nominees, are set to direct the gripping movie, while Celine Rattray, Luca Borghese, and Anne Carey will take on the role of producers.

Meanwhile, Hailee - who was nominated for an Oscar award for her performance in 'True Grit' in 2010 - will next be seen on screen in action comedy 'Barely Lethal' and drama thriller 'The Keeping Room'.
