Sophie and Jason have been in a relationship for many years, but unlike their peers they have no kids and in many ways they both feel like their lives haven't progressed. When they decide to adopt, Paw Paw, a cat which has been seriously injured, the couple see it as a positive move in their life together.
Paw Paw must be kept at the sanctuary until the cast on his leg can be removed, which they are told will take about 30 days - quite a large chunk of his life given that he's only got six months to live. Sophie and Jason take the month as a period to re-evaluate their lives and take the opportunity to do the things they've always wanted to do before responsibility hits.
