The FAA have agreed not to revoke Harrison Ford's license after almost colliding with a passenger jet.
Harrison Ford can now breathe a sigh of relief after the FAA have decided against disciplining him for his indiscretion while landing a private plane at John Wayne Airport back in February. He's avoided both a fine and the potential revocation of his pilot's license.
Harrison Ford snapped at the Celebrity Fight Night
After some consideration, the Federal Aviation Administration have let the 'Star Wars' actor and flying enthusiast off after he accidentally landed on a taxiway instead of his scheduled runway in Orange County, narrowly missing a passenger jet carrying 116 people.
The incident occurred in February, when air traffic controllers instructed Harrison to land his single engine Husky on runway 20-L. Instead, he ended up on taxiway C, where the American Airlines flight was scheduled to land. 'Was that airliner meant to be underneath me?' He asked air traffic control after landing. 'You landed on taxiway C', they told him. 'I landed on C!' Harrison sheepishly exclaimed.
The 74-year-old was deeply embarrassed and apologetic over his mistake, which could've had very serious consequences; not least causing an accident, he could've had his licence - which he has had for more than 20 years - taken away from him.

The FAA won't comment on individual cases, but they did release this statement obtained by NBC news. 'The FAA has completed its investigation of the incident in which a pilot landed on a taxiway at John Wayne Airport on February 13', they said. 'The FAA does not comment on cases involving individual airmen. You can file a FOIA request for any letters we issued in connection with this case.'
Harrison Ford has also avoided being penalised for two other occasions where he had an incident with an aircraft. The first was while he was still training; he seriously wrecked a helicopter after crashing it in Santa Clarita. The second time was in 2015 when the engine of his World War 2 plane failed and he crashed into a golf course in Santa Monica.
