Harry Potter star Matthew Lewis is set to receive an honorary degree in his native Leeds, England for his contribution to the arts.
The British actor landed the role of Neville Longbottom in the wizard franchise when he was just 11 years old, and officials at Leeds Metropolitan University have announced they are awarding him a Master of Arts degree at a ceremony later this month (Jul12).
In a series of posts on his Twitter.com page, a proud Lewis writes, "Thanks for the nice messages RE (regarding) honorary degree. Appreciated! Very surprising and humbling as you can imagine. Mates who graduated from there ain't (sic) too chirpy (happy). I'm buzzing though. Very proud."
