Harry Potter star Jason Isaacs' new Tv series Dig has become the latest victim of the Middle Eastern conflict after producers opted to move production out of Israel.

The new series, in which the Brit and actress Anne Heche play Fbi agents investigating the murder of a young archaeologist in Jerusalem, was originally set to film in the area, but as violence between Israeli and Palestinian forces in Gaza escalates, bosses at America's USA Network have decided to relocate production to Albuquerque, New Mexico.

A statement from executives reads: "Given the current situation and after careful consideration, we are relocating the production of Dig partly to Albuquerque and are continuing to explore other locations.

"Our experience filming in Israel was very positive and we are grateful to have had the opportunity to capture such an authentic landscape that will be threaded throughout the series."

The pilot for Dig was filmed throughout Israel with stops in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

Dig is co-created by Israeli writer-producer Gideon Raff, who also helms Homeland and new drama Tyrant, which has also moved production from Tel Aviv to Istanbul, Turkey.
