Movie mogul Harvey Weinstein will be the guest of honour at a special dinner on Monday (30Apr12), hosted by the French Ambassador to the U.S. to celebrate his Oscar success with The Artist.
The Hollywood producer, whose silent black-and-white film landed its French star Jean Dujardin, director Michel Hazanavicius and producer Thomas Langmann Academy Awards earlier this year (12), was feted with the Legion of Honour medal by French President Nicolas Sarkozy in March (12) and now he will be recognised at a high-profile event at the French Embassy in New York.
Celebrities including Bette Midler, Frank Langella, model Petra Nemcova and TV chef Padma Lakshmi are all expected to attend the dinner, organised by French Ambassador Francois Delattre and cultural counselor Antonin Baudry, according to the New York Post's Page Six column.
A letter from Sarkozy to Weinstein will also be read out to the crowd.
