Actress Hayden Panettiere's Father Has Assured Fans His Daughter Will Be "Just Fine" As She Battles Postpartum Depression Following The Birth Of Her First Child.
The former Heroes star has reportedly taken an indefinite leave of absence from her hit U.S. TV show Nashville as she continues her recovery.
She revealed last month (Sep15) she has been struggling with severe baby blues since becoming a first-time mum to daughter Kaya in December (14), and earlier this month (13Oct15) she checked herself into a treatment centre to seek professional help for her condition.
Speaking about her struggles recently, the actress said, "It's something a lot of women experience. When (you're told) about postpartum depression you think it's, 'I feel negative feelings towards my child, I want to injure or hurt my child' - I've never, ever had those feelings. Some women do.
"But you don't realise how broad of a spectrum you can really experience that on. It's something that needs to be talked about. Women need to know that they're not alone, and that it does heal."
And now her father, Skip Panettiere, is speaking out, telling Life & Style magazine, "She will be fine."
"She agreed she needed a more intensive treatment so she can be the best mother she can be to her daughter," a source tells the publication.
The star will remain at the treatment facility in Malibu, California for about a month, according to reports.
"She's getting the help she needs," a family insider adds.
Ironically, Panettiere plays a new mum struggling with postpartum depression on Nashville.
