Hayden Panettiere's movie about Amanda Knox is to be altered after the American student's murder conviction was overturned on Monday (03Oct11).
The Heroes star plays the title role in Lifetime TV movie Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy, which is based around the brutal killing of Knox's roommate, Meredith Kercher, in Perugia, Italy in 2007, and the subsequent trial.
Knox, 24, was found guilty of the killing and sentenced to 26 years in prison in 2009, but she took the case to appeal and her conviction was quashed on Monday.
Bosses at the Lifetime TV network have now confirmed Panettiere's film will be changed to incorporate the result of the appeal ahead of a planned U.S. broadcast on Tuesday (04Oct11), according to the Los Angeles Times.
The publication reports Panettiere declined to comment on the verdict.
