Heather Graham quit booze when she awoke with the worst hangover of her life - after her bad boy beau bailed out of her birthday party.
The actress, who stars in hit new comedy The Hangover, threw herself a big celebratory bash for her birthday, and invited everyone she knew to the event.
But Graham turned to drink when her uncaring ex walked out of the party early - and woke up the next day feeling depressed.
She tells Total Film magazine, "I had a birthday party a few years ago, it was a big party with a whole load of people invited. I got really nervous and invited a whole load of people. I was just drinking and having a good time.
"I was dating this guy and he was a bit of a jerk. He came to the party, but then he left early and I felt really bad. I just woke up the next day and the hangover wasn't good. I was feeling depressed and I said to myself, 'I'm never, ever drinking again'. And I've barely had a drink since."
But the star insists it hasn't hampered her social life - she prefers spending her time doing more healthy activities.
She adds, "I don't really like drinking that much. I'm really more of a hippie type. I prefer to do yoga than drink."
