The Queen star will receive the Luchino Visconti Award in recognition of her career achievements during a 17 July (15) ceremony at Villa La Colombaia, the former home of the iconic director Mirren's prize is named after.

Announcing the news, festival boss Pascal Vicedomini calls Mirren "one of today's most talented and charismatic film and theatre players".

The British actress will share the spotlight with her husband Hackford, who will be presented with the Ischia Legend Award at the gala.

Actor Antonio Banderas will also pick up the same accolade, while director Nicolas Winding Refn will be feted as European Director of the Year and Oscars boss Cheryl Boone Isaacs will receive the Ischia Art Award.

Opera star Andrea Bocelli and U.S. comedian Jimmy Kimmel will also be honoured during the eight-day event, which kicks off in Naples on 12 July (15).
