Helen Mirren is in the rare position of knowing she’s to make a speech when the Baftas roll around this Sunday. Dame, Helen Mirren – we should say - will be awarded with the Fellowship at the British Academy Film Awards ceremony at the Royal Opera House in London. The legendary actress said Helen felt "absolutely thrilled, proud, excited," to be the recipient of the accolade.

"It's really nice to go to this sort of ceremony knowing you've won. None of those kind of nerves. Knowing that you've got to make a speech, so and I never imagined that I would,” she said. “I always thought of myself as a bit of an outsider really, sort of the naughty girl. So I feel like the naughty girl suddenly made prefect. Got my prefect badge for good behavior," she said, according to The Telegraph. 

Having said that, her confidence only extends so far, and the fear of crying is one that looms large. "I'll try not to be too emotional about it,” she explained, according to Scotland’s, The Herald. “The emotional quotient, if my lip starts trembling, is the thought that my parents aren't here to be proud and that's the trouble with getting these sort of lifetime things because they do tend to come towards the latter part of your life as opposed to the beginning and they would have been so proud and so pleased for me."

Born in Hammersmith, London in 1945, Mirren would become on the U.K’s most admired actors. She has won an Academy Award for Best Actress, four BAFTAs, three Golden Globes, four Emmy Awards, and two Cannes Film Festival Best Actress Awards. In 2003, she received a damehood for services to the performing arts at a ceremony at Buckingham Palace.
