Meryl Streep, Helena Bonham Carter, Carey Mulligan and Anne Marie Duff have joined relatives of Suffragette leader Emmeline Pankhurst to mark this year’s International Women’s Day. The three actresses were joined by Pankhurst’s great-grand-daughter Helen and great-great-granddaughter Laura as well as director Sarah Gavron, screenwriter Abi Morgan and producers Alison Owen and Faye Ward who are behind the upcoming Suffragette movie.

Nowadays, they're providing much needed relief from male role models in cinema, with numerous feisty heroines that we already all know and love taken over the screen, from Kristen Stewart's vision of Snow White in 'Snow White And The Huntsman' to Angelina Jolie's misunderstood character in 'Maleficent' - not to mention the more original arrivals of Elsa and Anna in 'Frozen'.

There's been astronomical success in modern fairytale reboots recently, with 'Cinderella' being the next to be released starring Lily James from 'Downton Abbey'. However, according to her, this movie presents a lot more modern themes than you might think.

The forthcoming new movie directed by Kenneth Branagh is a live action rendition of the Oscar nominated 1950 Disney animation, with all the vibrancy and magic multiplied tenfold.

Finally, Disney has unveiled the first full trailer for Kenneth Branagh's live action rendition of one of the world's most beloved fairytales: Cinderella. And it looks to be one of the most visually stunning fantasy flicks of the coming months.

The movie industry has been going crazy with its throwback Grimm adaptations, and it doesn't look like anyone's had enough of it yet. While many movies have opted for the spin-off, original stories - such as 'Sleeping Beauty' adaptation 'Maleficent' and 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarves' comeback 'Snow White and the Huntsman', not to mention forthcoming fairytale omnibus 'Into The Woods' - director Kenneth Branagh and screenwriters Aline Brosh McKenna and Chris Weitz have gone for the more traditional approach with 'Cinderella'.

18 years since Fight Club ripped up the rule book for modern day American fiction, Chuck Palahniuk has confirmed he is working on a sequel that will be published in May 2015, as a 10-issue series for Dark Horse Comics.

Illustrated by Cameron Stewart, Fight Club 2 will pick up 10 years after the events of the original, with the narrator now married to Marla Singer. Fans will be glad to hear Tyler Durden is back too, and Palahniuk promises to go even further to the shadowy character's psyche and even examine his origins

One unexpected benefit from starring in the Harry Potter films is apparently the chance to test out the new additions at Orlando’s Wizarding World before anyone else. Several HP stars, including Tom Felton, Bonnie Wright, Matthew Lewis and Helena Bonham Carter visited the park this week and had a walk around the brand new Diagon Ally extension and take another dip in the wizarding world they spent over a decade working on.

The stars of Harry Potter get a number of perks, including early entrance to the new Diagon Ally.

Actor Tom Felton, who plays Harry's school nemesis Draco Malfoy, said Universal Studios' Diagon Alley attraction is better than the movie set.

Starring Lily James in the titular role, Cinderella is set for release in April 2015 and will also feature Cate Blanchett, Hayley Atwell, Helena Bonham Carter, Stellan Skarsgard, and Richard Madden.

The nominations have been announced for this year's BAFTA TV Awards, which will be held on Sunday 18th May. Salting the Battlefield, the British drama written by Sir David Hare, concluded the Worricker triology on Thursday evening (March 27, 2014) in a remarkable series that has seen Bill Nighy lead a phenomenal cast including Helena Bonham Carter, Rupert Graves, Ralph Fiennes.

If there’s one thing that can be said of Meryl Streep, it’s that she’s not an actress who shies away from challenging or controversial roles. So the recent announcement that Streep will be taking on the role of iconic feminist, Emmeline Pankhurst, in Suffragette, a movie which will be adapted from Abi Morgan’s new script, doesn’t come as entirely out of the blue. Streep and Morgan have in fact worked together before, on Morgan’s 2011 biopic The Iron Lady, which saw the legendary screen icon win the Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance as recently deceased ex British Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher.

Streep and Morgan are obviously a dynamic pair when it comes working on a project together, so it wouldn’t be totally outlandish to predict that Meryl Streep’s latest role could also land her her next Oscar winning performance.
