Hilary Swank still can't believe she is a famous actress.

Despite being an Oscar winner, the 'Conviction' star still finds it odd to think of herself as a Hollywood superstar because in her head she's still the same person she was growing up.

And she could scarcely believe it when she was honoured with a Star On The Hollywood Walk Of Fame in 2007.

She said: "I remember going to the Hollywood Walk of Fame and seeing everyone's names and the Hollywood sign. To later get my name on the Walk of Fame was a big moment. Really moving."

Although she finds it hard to think of herself as a famous movie star, Hilary is very grateful for her career and credits her mother Judy for pushing her to be successful.

She said: "Mom called up an agency, which is really rare, and she just said, 'My daughter's really beautiful and talented, you should meet her.' I went and read for a McDonald's commercial, they signed me up and I was with them for five years."
