Actress Holly Robinson Peete is celebrating a personal victory after rapper 50 Cent took heed of her plea and agreed to remove a series of offensive posts on his Twitter.com blog.
The 21 Jump Street star, whose eldest son Rodney, Jr. suffers from autism, was furious when she heard that the hip-hop mogul had insulted a rude Twitter follower on Monday night (02Jul12) by telling him he looked autistic, and she leaped into action and wrote an open letter to 50 Cent, asking him to stop using such hurtful language.
In the online note, Peete wrote, "When I read it (his tweets) my heart sank. I thought maybe your account had been hacked. No such luck. Granted, his comment was completely out of line but your retort: 'i just saw your picture fool you look autistic'- was so so disappointing. I mean, that's your comeback??
"And you didn't stop there. You went on to joke about not wanting 'special ed (education) kids' on your timeline. Seriously, This is how you use your platform of 8 million plus followers??"
She went on to ask 50 Cent to remove the tweets from his blog to prevent impressionable kids from following his bad example and she got exactly what she asked for on Wednesday (04Jul12) when the rapper deleted the comments from his site.
Marking the achievement, Peete writes on Twitter, "Really thankful that @50cent took down those tweets."
