Review of Moon Money EP by Hot Sugar

New York City's Nick Koenig aka Hot Sugars brings some delightful bleeps and production soundscapes with 'Moon Money' released on Ninja Tune. It's a fitting signing for this American artist to bring some funk and electronic wizardry to create a nice slice of sampling with street soul. 'Moon Money' has the bass and smokers delight fashion to bring a moody, smooth collection of tracks that take you back to the '90s days of sample culture. Keeping it basic and quirky in the melodic sense, it has all the flavour of New York cool. 'Coconut Powder' brings an electro flavour that is infectious and relevant.

Hot Sugar Moon Money EP

If you like DJ Food, Money Mark and Dope On Plastic, you'll dig this. Whether it's for nostalgia or for a need to get youthful in a production sense, Hot Sugar is bringing some sweet production that brings a sound so close to New York back to the future heads. Not bad!
