Finally, all that U.N. traffic will have a purpose!” Jackman joked that he would at last “get to realize my lifelong dream of dancing in the mosh pit with Ban Ki-Moon [U.N. Secretary General].”
High-profile actress and renowned activist Kerry Washington said: “I am very excited to be a part of the Global Citizen Festival and to join in this movement calling for an end to extreme poverty so that our future generations can live in a more just and equal world.”
48,000 tickets are available for the event, and are free to those who sign up via the Global Citizen website and give some of their time to engage to help raise awareness, by using social media, signing petitions to business and political leaders and so on.
