The 'X-Men' star sees plenty of crossover potential for his iconic character.
Will there come a point when all the characters from the Marvel universe unite for one earth-shattering blockbuster? As if The Avengers movies weren't star-studded enough, Hugh Jackman has suggested that the cast be expanded with the addition of his own X-Men character, Wolverine.
Hugh Jackman Says He Sees Crossover Potential For The X-Men & The Avengers.
Jackman explained to IGN exactly how well he'd see his iconic bladed-knuckle character fitting in with the likes of Captain America, Black Widow, Hulk, and Iron Man. "I would love to see him as part of The Avengers" Jackman admitted. "Because there's a great dysfunction among that team, and I think Wolverine would fit right into that. He'd like that."

The actor even went as far as to court potential scenarios involving Wolverine and The Avengers, including bantering with Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man. "There's no doubt he'd get in a fight with Hulk at some point. Those two bad, rage-filled characters are going to square off at some point. It would be quite fun. I don't know how much fun to shoot it would be because I'm sure I'd be on the worst end of it, but hey, he can heal," he said.
More: Hugh Jackman is "realistic" about skin cancer returning.
Though Jackman's words are certainly exciting for any fans of the respective franchises, the reality is that any crossover movies would be unlikely. Fox licenses the movie rights to the X-Men movies from Marvel so they're probably not planning on lending the biggest star of their biggest franchise to a rival studio any time soon.
Jackman Even Said He Could Imagine Wolverine's Interactions With Hulk & Iron Man.
Nevertheless, this is all good news for fans of the 45 year-old film star, who may have feared that Jackman was going to take some time out as he recovers from another cancer scare. The actor underwent an operation which involved cutting out the cancer from the side of his nose and which explains the nose bandage he has been seen wearing recently.
