The Expendables team could finally meet their match in the franchise’s fourth instalment, as WWE legend Hulk Hogan has claimed he’s in talks to play the film’s evil villain. Hulk made the announcement during a Q&A session at the Body Pro Expo in Birmingham, England, last week, telling the crowd he’d been discussing a possible role in the fourth movie with the franchise’s star and creator Sylvester Stallone.

“I was talking on the phone with Sly last night about doing The Expendables 4,” Hogan told the audience. "We’re trying to figure out a way to maybe turn me into the most evil man in the world, so. You know, Stallone gave me my first break and he’s been a great friend for all these years. He's the exact same guy today that he was 30 years ago.”

“We had a great conversation, talking about the possibilities,” the 61 year old added. “Can I still run, can I still jump?’ Well, not as fast or not as high, but I think Hollywood could find a good stunt man to help me out.” If it happens the role would be Hogan’s first big screen appearance since his cameo in 1999’s Muppets from Space.

But the Hulkster is certainly no stranger to big screen action. After beginning his wrestling career in the late 70s, Hogan’s first acting break came in 1983 when he played villain Thunderlips in Rocky III, opposite Stallone.

As Hulkamania swept the globe in the mid 1980s Hogan popped up on the small screen guesting on ‘The A-Team’ and then made pro wrestling movie, No Holds Barred. Hogan’s acting career then continued throughout the 90s, when he appeared in action flicks such as Suburban Commando and comedies including Mr Nanny.

Each Expendables sequel has so far seen a well known name take on the villain role, starting with Jean Claude Van Damme in The Expendables 2 then Mel Gibson in The Expendables 3. But if Hogan was to join the franchise he wouldn't be the first WWE legend to do so, as the first Expendables movie featured former champ 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin.
