To be honest I have never heard of these Mancunians, this maybe a good thing or a bad thing depending on what you the readers are looking for within this review, historic biography no, a fresh point of view yes. I do however know that this is their first single from their new album Gods & Monsters and that they also have had two album releases previous to this. On initial listening what was immediately brought to mind was the Brit-pop styling of the songs. However on further listen what did come to mind more specifically was the music of The Eels especially on the title track but only if they were from Manchester and grew up on Lennon. This may sound a strange combination but it certainly

sounds good to me. The song structures and atmosphere this single has brings a certain melancholy feel to it but in a way that is very accessible and honest. The Lo-Fi recording adds to the very strong lyrical content of the words as sung by John Bramwell which matches perfectly with the bass heavy guitars. What is also great about current music out there is that bands are paying attention again to their B-Side output, this is certainly the case with I Am Kloot. This is music is heartfelt, direct, relevant, and not about attitude, snazzy hair doo's and egos.
