Let it go? That's just not Disney's style.
Don’t let it go just yet, because Disney is far from retiring Frozen. In fact, it’s cashing in on the franchise’s unprecedented popularity with another sequel and a musical. So says Idina Menzel anyway. It was far from a definite “yes”, but in a recent interview, the Frozen star was asked about the sequel and musical rumours and replied: “They’re all in the works.”
Unfortunately, Idina will not star in the stage version.
In the work, guys. More Anna and Elsa, guys. I’m... not sure that’s such a great idea. But what’s even more questionable is that the brains over at Disney have apparently chosen not to have the Broadway vet star in the stage version. No no, don’t panic, Menzel is still set to voice her beloved character in the screen version.

All up to speed? Good. So, the popular consensus is that the story about two princesses rediscovering the meaning of friendship, sisterhood and independence was based on Hans Christian Andersen’s The Snow Queen. But one woman begs to differ. New Jersey-based author Isabella Tanikumi has launched a lawsuit against Disney, on grounds that the plot of Frozen was lifted from her books Living My Truth and Yearning of the Heart and indirectly, from her life story.
Frozen became one of Disney's biggest hits, but was all that success based on plagiarism?
So is Tanikumi heir to the throne of a small Nordic country, who discovered at a young age that her powers of cryokinesis (it’s a real word, google it.) Not quite. But her lawsuit does cite 18 instances of similar material, including including details on the village, the sisters, the older sister accidentally hurting the younger sister, the younger sister losing her memory, and even two male characters that Tanikumi had named Hans and Christoff. In the film, the male characters are Hans and Kristoff.

What are your prospects when you look like a Disney princess?
If you’re looking for a real life version of Elsa from Frozen, you’d be hard pressed to find anyone better than Anna Faith Carlson. The 18 year old from Florida has quickly become a viral sensation thanks to her uncanny resemblance to the popular Disney princess. But what does the future hold for the living, breathing version of Elsa, really, what are the career options for a real life Disney princess?
Elsa and Anna, the animated versions
Anna Carlson looks like Elsa from Frozen, this is pretty much an indisputable fact and something which the young model is all too well aware of. Anna was the one who first noticed the resemblance when she sat down to watch Frozen for the first time last December. "Every time I watch [the movie], it's weird because it's like I'm watching myself. It's kind of creepy,” she told the Orlando Sentinel newspaper. As creepy as watching the movie might be, Anna has no problem with exploiting her Elsa resemblance for a few thousand likes on Instagram. Her profile is full of pictures of herself dressed as the Disney character and she even went to her high school prom in full Elsa garb! But she’s also been putting her unique claim to fame to good use, by visiting sick children at Florida hospitals and performing a special rendition of ‘Let it Go’, the film’s famous song. To add extra authenticity to her act, she’s even recruited her actual sister, Lexie Grace, to perform with her playing Elsa’s sibling in the movie.
