Idris Elba is a father to a healthy baby son.

The 41 year-old actor welcomed his second child into the world with his make-up artist girlfriend Naiyana Garth on Friday (April 18th).

Elba announced the good news via Twitter by posting an adorable black and white photo of his new-born baby holding his finger.

The caption reads: "My Son Winston Elba was born yesterday..Truly Amazing." Idris chose the name to honor his late father who passed away last September (2013) after losing a battle with lung cancer.

This is the first child the 'Takers' actor shares with Naiyana, he is a father to a 9 year-old daughter, Isan, from a previous relationship.

Once the pregnancy news broke last November, a source close to their situation stated, "Idris and Naiyana are so in love and this is the icing on the cake for them."

''They had been keeping it quiet as it's early in the pregnancy, but they've told family and friends and Naiyana is beginning to show," the insider continued.

The happy couple only confirmed their relationship just a few weeks prior to announcing they were expecting a child together, but it is speculated that they dated several months before this.

"She is absolutely lovely and she's looking radiant. Her and Idris are a great couple and feel lucky to have found each other," the source continued. ''Obviously Idris is a bit of a TV heartthrob so Naiyana is the envy of women across the country."

''But the truth is Idris is the one who really considers himself the lucky one," he said of Elba. "He's a great dad and she'll be a brilliant mum. They can't wait for their new arrival."

The British star will next be seen in crime thriller 'No Good Deed,' which is set ot be released this coming September, and earlier this year he received a Golden Globe nomination for his starring role in 'Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.'
