Idris Elba Has Poked Fun At Comments Made By New James Bond Author Anthony Horowitz After The Writer Called Him "Too Street" To Play 007.
The Wire actor is the current favourite to take over from Daniel Craig when he eventually steps down from the lead role in the film franchise, but Horowitz, who wrote upcoming Bond novel Trigger Mortis, recently branded the British actor "a bit too rough" and "too street" to take on the suave role.
Horowitz apologised for his comments following a backlash, declaring, "I am mortified to have caused offence", but Elba has laughed off the criticism by sharing a screen grab of the story on Instagram.com.
In the caption, he wrote, "Always keep smiling!! It takes no energy and never hurts!... Learned that from the street!!"
