Iggy Pop wants to have David Bowie's level of privacy in his own life.

The rock icons haven't spoken in a decade, which Iggy puts down to the 'Where Are We Now?' hitmaker's privacy - and he wants to follow a similar path

He said: ''I think he's probably been doing a hell of a lot over the past 10 years that's none of anybody's business.

''He has done nothing publicly and I think that's great and hats off to him. That's kind of where I'm heading hopefully.''

The 65-year-old icon hasn't heard Bowie's new single - released on his birthday last month - but did reveal they discussed potential projects when they last spoke.

He admitted to The Independent on Sunday newspaper: ''He called me down here about 10 years ago. There were a couple of projects but I couldn't do them so we just had a really great chat.

''You know, 'How are you? What have you been doing? Married? Girlfriend? This, that, blah, blah, blah.' We haven't spoken since, which is fine.''
