Horror rappers Insane Clown Posse have come to the defence of their face-painted fans after they were added to the Fbi's National Gang Threat Assessment list, insisting officials "got this wrong".
'Juggalos' were classified as a gang in the bureau's 2011 update for exhibiting thug-like behaviour and criminal activity. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (Fbi) report stated that most Juggalo-related crime is "sporadic, disorganised, individualistic" and involves "simple assault, personal drug use and possession, petty theft and vandalism".
However, the findings have infuriated members of the group, who have threatened to take legal action over their fans' inclusion on the threat list.
Rapper Joseph Utsler, known as Shaggy 2 Dope, states, "We are hearing too many stories from our fans about the trouble (being on the Fbi list is) causing them. Just because you like a music group, doesn't make you a criminal."
Bandmate Joseph Bruce, aka Violent J, adds, "We're not attacking the Fbi, but they got this wrong. The Juggalos are not a gang, and that needs to be fixed."
