Fact: London-based musician Izzy Bizu, 22, has been named as the 2016 BBC Introducing Artist of the Year. Previous winners of the award include the band Catfish And The Bottlemen and last year's (15) winner Jack Garratt. Her debut album A Moment of Madness was released in September (16).

Fact: Izzy Bizu, Jack Garratt and Frances have been named as the finalists for the BRIT Awards' prestigious Critics' Choice prize. The winner will be announced on 27 November (15), and the chosen artist will follow in the footsteps of previous recipients Adele, Sam Smith and Jessie J. The award will be handed out at the London ceremony on 24 February (16).
