Jack Antonoff ''really, really'' wants to have children.

The Fun. rocker has been dating 'Girls' star Lena Dunham for two years and now wants to start a family.

He said: ''I really, really want children.''

The 30-year-old musician also claimed he wants his kids to be ''miserable'' so they can go on to do great things.

He told The Times newspaper: ''I'll always be a s**t-kicker from New Jersey so it doesn't matter.

''It's my future children I worry about. I went to school in New York City when I was 16 and the kids there were so jaded. They didn't give a s**t.

''That's when I realised, suburbia is amazing. You grow up bored and desperate to get out and it admires you.

''Maybe I'll send [my kids] to a private Jewish school in New Jersey. That way they'll be miserable. And then they might do something good one day.''

The 'We Are Young' hitmaker always seeks 28-year-old Lena's opinion on his work and she does the same to him with hers but Jack says they never get offended by any criticisms.

He said: ''When I get home from the studio, Lena is the first person to hear anything and I can tell if something's good or not by her reaction.

''She's just a music fan, not a musician. I'm just a film fan, not a filmmaker, but our opinions are more important than a producer's opinion because they mirror how the outside world is going to see or hear it.

''We both work so much, chip away at things for so long that it's not like we get oversensitive. We're not 19. We can take criticism. I love criticism from her.''
