Irish actor Jack Reynor has reportedly landed a role in Jj Abrams' Star Wars: Episode VII. Now, there's been tons of Star Wars casting rumors recently - Gary Oldman, Zac Efron, Michael B. Jordan - but this comes from Harry Knowles at Ain't It Cool News, a movie guy renowned for his reliable scoops.

Harry cites two separate sources confirming that Reynor - who will appear in Michael Bay's new trilogy of Transformers movies - has signed on for Star Wars Episode VII. Here's what Harry said:

"Also - here's a rumor to check up on.  I'm hearing that Jack Reynor, a young Irish actor that will be in this new Bay TRANSFORMERS trilogy - but that I've now heard from two different sources has landed a role in EPISODE VII.  No idea of what role."

Reynor, a Colorado-born actor who moved to Ireland at the age of 2, won acclaim for his performance in Lenny Abrahamson's 2012 drama What Richard Did though American audiences might recognise him for his small part in the Vince Vaughn comedy Delivery Man.

The actor joins Oldman, Efron, Jordan and fellow Irish star Saoirse Ronan as those linked to key roles in the Disney movie and director Abrams has confirmed talks with Breaking Bad's Jesse Plemons. Others linked to parts including Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Cumberbatch and Simon Pegg.

Star Wars Episode VII will begin shooting at Pinewood studios in May. It will be first Star Wars movie since Disney purchased Lucas Film for $4.05 billion in October 2012. 

Original stars Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) and Harrison Ford (Han Solo) are expected to return in some form.
