The picture, taken at a hospital, shows King with her husband, director Kyle Newman, and their 20-month-old son, James Knight. King can be seen in the process of breastfeeding but the baby is concealed from view.

‘We are SO happy to welcome to the world our new baby boy! Born Thursday, July 16th!’ King captioned the picture.

Newman also shared the news on Instagram but also chose not to show the baby. His picture showed King and Knight, both looking hugely excited, sat on the hospital bed.

‘HE'S ARRIVED! So happy to welcome our new baby boy into the world. Born July 16th! Mom & Baby are well. Name coming soon,’ the 39-year-old Barely Lethal director captioned the image.

It’s amazing news for the whole King-Newman family but there’s another celebrity who will be over the moon at the arrival of the family’s second child. King’s close friend, 1989 singer Taylor Swift, will be thrilled to hear the news as she was named godmother months before the birth.

Swift has regularly shared updates with her fans on King’s pregnancy, including a sweet video on Instagram in which she feels the baby kick. Swift announced her godmother position on Instagram in March.

‘Guess who just got named Godmother of this little one..... (ME),’ Swift captioned the picture in which she is seen rubbing King’s belly.

King, speaking to E!, explained her reasons for picking 25-year-old Swift as her second child’s godmother.

"I always thought if I were to have another child that [Taylor] would be the ideal godmother because the way she not only treats me but the way she treats other human beings," King said in an interview. "She's so loving and so giving and so generous and she does everything from her heart."

“I know that [our baby] will always have a very good person and role model through her,” The Hart of Dixie star added.

Congratulations to the King-Newman family (and to Taylor Swift)!
