British singer James Blunt is urging fans to sign up for a charity bicycle ride in London to raise money for wounded soldiers.

The You're Beautiful hitmaker, who served in the British armed forces before he found fame, is backing the Help For Heroes organisation's latest fundraiser, the Hero Ride.

Blunt is planning to ride 10 miles (16 kilometres) on his bike through the U.K. capital in June (13), and he is calling on fans to join the challenge.

In a post on his Twitter.com page, he writes, "Anyone fancy a bike ride on Sun (sic) 2nd June to support our wounded soldiers? Meet you there. Hero Ride."
