Into the Woods is due out at Christmas
Hollywood is a long way from Essex but that’s the journey that James Corden’s characters have taken from Smithy in Gavin and Stacey to the Baker in Disney’s newest musical, Into the Woods. But what does the former League of Their Own panel show host and self-confessed lad think to his latest project that will be showing to quite a few more people than any of his previous projects?
James Corden has been talking about his latest film, Into the Woods
Speaking about Into the Woods, America's newest talk show host said: "There’s so many layers to it as a piece and there’s so many messages but I think that what I’ve always taken from it is the old adage of be careful of what you wish for.

"What is amazing in the film is that two thirds of the way through all of the characters have got exactly what they wanted at the start of the film yet they’re still not happy."
Corden was also keen to praise the film’s director, Rob Marshall, for having the guts to bring an infamous musical such as this to the big screen.

He said: "Rob has such an understanding of musicals and a vision for film and so it took someone like him to pick it up by the scruff of its neck and say: ‘This is how we’re going to tell this story’."
Into the Woods will hit cinemas on 25 December but, for a sneak preview, watch the trailer here.
