James Gandolfini is celebrated posthumously as a stretch of street in his New Jersey hometown is dedicated to him.
The late Golden Globe winning actor James Gandolfini was honored at the weekend with a New Jersey street being dedicated to him in a packed out ceremony.
'The Sopranos' star passed away in June 2013, but his hometown are certainly not forgetting him any time soon. On Sunday (December 1st 2013), crowds of fans and friends flocked to Park Avenue in Park Ridge where a section of road near his teenage hangout, the Ridge Diner, was closed off as the Mayor Terence Maguire presided over a commemorative dedication of a stretch of the avenue.

It was a joyful occasion that saw the Mayor describe Gandolfini as the 'son of Park Ridge', according to NorthJersey.com, and even joked about the bustling turn-out in regards to 'The Sopranos' gangster theme.
"We thought maybe we were going to get a mob. It looks like we did," he quipped. Among some of the attendees were his wife Deborah Lin and son Michael Gandolfini, as well as 'Sopranos' director Timothy Van Patten and Gandolfini's various co-stars Dominic Chianese, Tony Sirico and John Ventimiglia.
Gandolfini died at the age of 51 this year after suffering a heart attack in his Boscolo Exedra Hotel room in Rome during a short vacation before he was due to receive an award at the Taormina Film Fest in Sicily.
