James Packer wants to marry Mariah Carey in ''a sky's-the-limit wedding.''

The Australian billionaire, who has only been dating the 45-year-old singer for a few weeks, has reportedly promised to buy her a large estate on the island of Capri in Italy Gulf of Naples for their nuptials if she agrees to tie the knot with him.

A source close to the couple told the US edition of OK! magazine: ''He's planning on buying out a large section of Capri--her favourite place in the world--for a sky's-the-limit wedding.''

The duo celebrated Independence Day in Las Vegas last weekend after jetting back from an extended holiday on James' yacht in the Mediterranean.

The pair also visited Israel together for ''a pre-engagement spiritual meeting'' with James' religious advisor at an undisclosed location.

While they are eager to wed, Mariah's divorce from estranged husband Nick Cannon, with whom she has four-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan, has yet to be finalised.

But a source previously insisted the 'Fantasy' hitmaker, who was also previously married to record label boss Tommy Mottola, is still being very cautious.

The insider said: ''Mariah is having a lot of fun being courted. It's very different than when Nick Cannon was wooing her. To her, Nick was a boy. James is a man.

''This trip is a chance for her to really get to know him. She hasn't 100 percent let him in yet.''
