James Van Der Beek's pregnant wife has been taking motherhood tips from Demi Moore.

Kimberley Brook - who married former 'Dawson's Creek' star James last month in a Kabbalah ceremony in Israel - has been paying close attention to mother-of-three Demi during her first pregnancy so she can learn how to be a good parent.

Kimberley - who is expecting a girl with James - said: "Demi's best advice is given by just watching her. She's got a graceful, beautiful way with children and gives lots of baby bump love."

Meanwhile, James has revealed he had the "perfect afternoon" at his wife's baby shower - held at his actor friend Balthazar Getty's house last week - because he didn't have to plan any of it.

James told Britain's OK! magazine: "We felt very lucky to have friends who said to us, 'Don't worry about anything, just show up.' Which is exactly what we did. They had put together a perfect afternoon, and all we had to do was enjoy ourselves.

"Thankfully, I wasn't asked for any advice. It pays to have talented friends."

The 33-year-old star - who got divorced from his first wife, Heather McComb, in March 2010 - was amazed with every aspect of the party and thinks the organisers, designer Jena Scaccetti and stylists Rosetta Getty and Jessica Paster did a fantastic job.

He added: "Every corner was filled with beautiful flowers, candies and food, not a single detail was overlooked. There were nooks and crannies to relax in, lots of shade, trays of hors d'oeuvres and a buffet full of healthy, Middle Eastern salads and vegetables."

Among Kimberley's favourite gifts was a stuffed giraffe which she has nicknamed "Ginny", while James' favourite present was a framed picture their photographer friend had made for them.

The picture was the first photo of the couple together ever taken - an accidental shot in the reflection of a mirror.
