Snowpiercer Trailer

In a post-apocalyptic world where a deadly ice age has taken over the Earth, there are only a few survivors, all of whom have taken shelter in an enormous train propelled by perpetual motion. While the rich and powerful live in luxury at the front end of the locomotive, the poor have been forced to dwell at the tail with limited supplies by the dictatorial Minister Mason. During a routine deliverance of protein blocks, one tail inhabitant, Curtis, decides to round up a rebel army to invade the front, though no-one could have imagined the amount of bloodshed the ensuing revolt would trigger. In a bid to destroy the barbaric class hierarchy this new life has caused, Curtis plots a major act of disaster. It starts to look like the human race really will be the death of themselves.

The Mythological Production Of Lars Von Trier's 'Nymphomaniac'

Shia LaBeouf Lars Von Trier Jamie Bell Charlotte Gainsbourg Stacy Martin Christian Slater

Lars Von Trier’s latest film Nymphomaniac has been getting everyone hot under the collar since before any actual filming even began. Written and directed by the controversial von Trier, who is renowned for his avant-garde approach to filmmaking, the film stars Stellan Skarsgard, Stacy Martin, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Shia LeBeouf, Christian Slater, Jamie Bell, Uma Thurman and Willem Dafoe...how’s that for a star-studded cast?

There may be loads of mainstream actors on board, but the concept behind Nymphomaniac is anything but commercial. Charting the sexual history of Joe, a self-diagnosed nymphomaniac, the plot sees her recount her erotic experiences to Seligman, a bachelor who took her in after finding her having been beaten up in an alley. Divided into two separate films, or “volumes”, and eight chapters, the first volume of Nymphomaniac tells the story of Joe when she was young (played by Stacy Martin) while volume two is concerned with the older Joe.

Nymphomaniac: Volume II Trailer

Joe is a fiercely determined 50-year-old woman whose sexual drive has taken over her entire life. Her story of how she ended up injured in an alleyway and subsequently being nursed back to health by the curious Seligman deepens and darkens in this half of the story, as she relays tales of how her sexuality has caused so much damage. In a bid to somehow recover from her nymphomania, she attends a therapy group, but she also can't resist meeting a therapist of a different kind as she finds new and more dangerous ways to challenge herself and her sexuality. Her pleasure through pain has led her to a potential job with a group of criminals who are looking for somebody to inflict pain on their victims. But with such instable people around her, just how close is she to landing in some serious trouble?

Jamie Bell Met A Naked Lars Von Trier, Smacked Gainsbourg Without A Hello. Nymphomaniac Anyone?

If Jamie Bell’s account is anything to go by, working with Lars Von Trier is a truly unforgettable experience. The young British actor has recounted the Danish director’s strange directing techniques with The Guardian in an interview, and they involve meeting him, totally naked (Von Trier, not Bell) and smacking Charlotte Gainsbourg with pleasantries skipped.

"I'd just got to Copenhagen to begin shooting. Thomas was showing me around: 'We built this set here, this is where the production design room is.' Then we had to walk past this outdoor pool and there was Lars with a towel in his hand,” explained bell. “He dropped the towel, he shook my hand – he was stark bollock-naked – and he said, 'Do you want to come for a swim?' And I said, 'I'm all right man, I just got here, I've still got my suitcase, so I'll wait.'"

Nymphomaniac Review

Excellent

At four hours long, this drama is as confrontational as anything we've seen by Lars von Trier (Melancholia), but it's also perhaps his most humane and hopeful film yet. This is a challenging, complex exploration of human sexuality, but it's told with a surprisingly light touch, allowing humour and warmth to seep in around the edges. So even if it's darkly haunting and occasionally shocking, violent or sexually explicit, it's so recognisably honest that we can't help but be moved.

This is the story of Joe (played as a teen by Martin and as an adult by Gainsbourg), who is found near death in an alleyway and nursed back to health by the kindly Seligman (Skarsgard). While she recovers from her injuries, she tells him about her life, which has been defined by sex since she was 2 years old. She loses her virginity as a teen to the greasy biker Jerome (LaBeouf), who will re-enter her life two more times over the following decades. Through the years she struggles to understand love, which she sees as lust plus jealousy. Then when she suspects that love might be the secret ingredient for good sex, her subsequent experiences take her down an unexpected road.

Flashbacks to Joe's life are sequential, so as she narrates her story we experience it along with her. This includes her riotous teen years preying on men as a game, protesting with her friends against a love-fixated society. Getting sex is easy, but making sense of it is something else. She tries being randomly cruel to men, and having a master (Bell) physically abuse her. She experiences love and motherhood, and eventually finds a career as an enforcer for a loan shark (Dafoe). Along the way, Martin and Gainsbourg deliver unflinching performances that let us see Joe's soul. And Skarsgard takes our breath away in an unusually introspective, wrenching role.

Kate Mara Michael B. Jordan Miles Teller Jamie Bell

The lineup for Fox’s upcoming Fantastic Four reboots is currently being finalized. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio is making deals with Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Teller, Mara, Jordan and Bell will portray Marvel’s original superheroes – a scientist, his best friend, his girlfriend and her brother, who end up in a freak accident and become Mr. Fantastic, The Thing, Invisible Girl and Human Torch, respectively. They fought aliens and monsters but their arch-foe was Dr. Doom, a onetime roommate of the scientist.

The reboot has been in the works for a while and is currently one of Foxs’s main projects, with the studio planning to release the film on June 19, 2015. The project, which has gone through a fair bit of ups and downs (the movie almost made it to production last fall, before rewrites delayed it, THR reports) now has a script, which was used for a round of read-throughs and screen tests in February.

Forget Shia LaBeouf's Diva Act, 'Nymphomaniac' Is A Runaway Berlin Hit [Trailer + Pictures]

Lars Von Trier's controversial new movie Nymphomaniac has gone down a storm with critics after having premiered at the Berlin Film Festival. However, cast member Shia LaBeouf, who has been doing a lot of bizarre things recently in the name of performance art, drew unnecessary attention to himself by walking out of the press conference and appearing with a paper bag on his head on the red carpet.

After being asked about the movie's explicit sex scenes, of which apparently there are many, Shia quoted footballer Eric Cantona's famous 1995 line: "When the seagulls follow the trawler, it is because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea" before making his exit, according to BBC News. He later appeared on the red carpet for the premiere screening wearing a brown paper bag with the words "I am not famous anymore" written on it with two eye holes.

Filth Review

Essential

As another full-on Irvine Welsh adaptation Trainspotting did in 1996, this bracingly original movie puts a new filmmaker on the map. Not only is this a loud blast of both style and substance, but it refuses to water down its subject matter, taking us through a shockingly profane story in a way that's both visually inventive and emotionally resonant.

This is the story of Bruce (McAvoy), an Edinburgh detective who's determined to beat his colleagues to a promotion. He's also a relentless womaniser, sexist, racist and drug addict. And he'll do anything to get ahead, hiding the sordid details of his private life from his boss (Sessions) while undermining the other cops at any chance while pretending to be their friends. In quick succession, he gets young Ray (Bell) addicted to cocaine, flirts continually with Amanda (Poots), has a fling with the kinky wife (Dickie) of fellow officer Gus (Lewis), torments Peter (Elliott) about his sexuality, and takes Bladesey (Marsan) on a sex-tourism holiday while making obscene calls to his needy wife (Henderson). All of this happens while Bruce leads the investigation into a grisly murder.

McAvoy dives so far into this role that we barely recognise him in there. Bruce is so amoral that we are taken aback by each degrading moment. And yet McAvoy somehow manages to hold our sympathy due to the film's blackly hilarious tone and a startling undercurrent of real emotion. Even though he's a monster, we see his boyish fragility, especially in surreal sequences involving his therapist (Broadbent), which merge with his fantasies, hallucinations and nightmares.

James McAvoy Needs To Clean Up His Act In Filth (Trailer)

James McAvoy Irvine Welsh Jamie Bell Imogen Poots Jim Broadbent

Filth, the latest movie to star James McAvoy, is an adaptation of Irvine Welsh’s novel of the same name and it has all the hallmarks of a classic Irvine Welsh movie adaptation, with its fast-paced, seedy cinematography and wry, snappy humour. The word filth takes on two meanings here. McAvoy plays the central character Bruce Robertson, who – by all accounts, is a pretty filthy kinda guy, he’s into some fairly unsavoury sexual practises and when his doctor asks if he’s been taking his medication, he’s only able to sort-of-honestly answer ‘yes’ because of all the illicit substances he’s been snorting. That’s not the only kind of ‘filth’ he is though – he’s also a police officer. A Detective Sergeant no less.

Robertson’s not one for abiding by the law, however and even when he’s on duty, he’s a pretty deceitful, dishonest kind of guy and will do anything to get one over on his colleagues, so that he can get a promotion. However, the combination of mind-altering drugs and the fact that he’s collapsing under a mountain of lies soon starts to take a toll on his sanity and wellbeing. Add to that the fact that he has a troubled marriage that he’s desperate to save and things aren’t looking great for him, all told.

This red-band trailer precedes the September release of the movie which also stars Jamie Bell, Imogen Poots, Joanne Froggett and Jim Broadbent

Filth - Red Band Trailer

This trailer is only suitable for persons aged 18 or over.

Bruce Robertson is a vile, devious and emotionally disturbed individual who also happens to be a Detective Sergeant. Off duty, he lives a life of debauchery; snorting line after line of cocaine and indulging in sordid sexual encounters with numerous women while trying to control his unpredictable bipolar personality. On duty, he does everything within his power to trick, deceive and ruin the lives of his colleagues with whom he competes to achieve a promotion to detective inspector. He does nothing to hide his radical views on race and women as he attempts to solve a grisly murder that seems to have more to it than he initially thought. With the web of lies he weaves throughout his life, will he be able to sort out truths from the untruths in order to maintain his sanity as his deteriorating mental health threatens to cripple him? And will he ever be reunited with the wife he is so desperate to resolve things with?

Adapted from the novel by Irvine Welsh, 'Filth' has been directed and written by Jon S. Baird ('Cass') and sees an intense star-studded cast convert to screen an compelling story of insanity, romance and deceit. This shocking 18-rated crime drama is set to hit UK cinemas in September 2013.

Evan Rachel Wood Pregnancy Took Her Completely By Surprise

Evan Rachel Wood Jamie Bell

Yesterday (Jan 11) Evan Rachel Wood and her actor husband Jamie Bell announced that they were expecting their first child together. Whilst this is great news for the two, it wasn't expected news for the couple at all - with Wood admitting today that the pregnancy came as a complete surprise.

The two issued an official statement announcing the good news, with US Weekly first publishing the story alongside a spokesperson's statement from their publicist saying that the two were thrilled with the news. It's just as well that the two were so happy at the thought of tiny feet soon pitter-pattering around their home, as the couple were completely unaware that the actress was expecting and had made no prior plans to start a family.

She posted a Tweet yesterday denying that she ever expected to be expecting, writing: "Remember when i said, "No baby on the way here" Well, I didnt know there actually was!"

Evan Rachel Wood Marries Billy Elliot Star Jamie Bell

Evan Rachel Wood Jamie Bell Marilyn Manson

Evan Rachel Wood, 25, has tied the knot with actor Jamie Bell, 26, best known for his turn in Billy Elliot. A representative for Wood confirmed the news to People magazine on Tuesday (October 30, 2012).

"The bride wore a custom dress by Carolina Herrera," the rep says in a statement. "It was a small ceremony with close family and friends." The pair have been rumored to be engaged since January, though never made public their intention to marry. What we do know is that they first began dating in 2005, after co-starring in Green Day's Wake Me Up When September Ends music video, though Rachel Wood soon began a relationship with the rocker Marilyn Manson. In a Twitter post on Wednesday, The Wrestler actress said "Words cannot describe the happiness I am feeling. Overwhelming," before following up with, "Song of the day "(today i met) the boy i'm gonna marry" #darlenelove." British actor Max Minghella - a close friend of Bell - posted a message that read, "Yesterday I got to see my best friend exchange vows with the love of his life. Still coming down from high," which Rachel Wood subsequently re-tweeted. Bell is yet to tweet about the nuptials, though handily told followers a couple of weeks back, "My girl wears Batman socks. Ten points!"

He is currently shooting Lars Van Trier's hugely controversial drama Nymphomaniac, while Rachel Wood is about to begin work on the romance It Is What It Is, with Sigourney Weaver.

Weak
There's so little to this film that you've almost forgotten everything about it by the time the closing credits start to roll. It's so easy to watch that you're lulled into thinking that it's quite good, even though it's not.

Ex-cop Nick (Worthington) is only a couple of years into an excessively long prison sentence for stealing a giant diamond from a ruthless jewel magnate (Harris). But he manages to escape, positioning himself on a 21st-floor ledge above a busy Manhattan street. As the crowd gathers and cops (Banks and Burns) come to talk him down, Nick's brother Joey (Bell) and his bendy girlfriend Angie (Rodriguez) are breaking into a nearby building. Basically, it's Nick's last-ditch effort to clear his name.
