In a supportive and emotional Instagram post, the ‘Hart of Dixie’ actress speaks candidly for the first time about her journey from trying to get pregnant, to becoming a mom of a healthy baby boy.

"For all the struggling women & moms out there that think they are alone – This is the truth about conceiving my son and struggles after," King shared on the social media site on Friday (July 15th). "8 yrs of pain and undiagnosed PCOS & Endometriosis. 9 doctors until Dr. Randy Harris diagnosed me & saved my life from a severe ectopic, 5 miscarriages, 5 rounds of IVF, 26 IUI's, most with no outcome, 4½ years of trying to conceive."

Eventually King welcomed a child into the world last October (2013), but going into labor was a very traumatic experience, she told her followers.

"26 hours of brutal labor, early delivery b/c of sudden preeclampsia, tearing and tearing after the stitches were in once I was home, milk supply issues, painful mastitis, uncontrollable crying while breast feeding," she posted.

King also advised new mothers to give all their energy to their children, rather than putting their focus elsewhere.

"[I] worked until the day before I [gave] birth and went back after 6 weeks after," she explained. "I was afraid of letting others down."

As the lengthy message concluded, it became clear why King decided to talk about such a private and sensitive subject now, she caption the post, #youarenotalone, "#ihavetobebravetosupportothers #realtalkthatterrifiesus.”
