Graffiti6 PicJamie Scott’s band, Graffiti6

Aside from Scott’s songwriting for other artists, he does it for himself as well. His alternative rock band Graffiti6 released their new album, The Bridge, just a few months ago, and that’s following up their 2010 record, Colours. They never had a single that really broke any ground in the U.S. (Colours debuted at number 85) but they’ve managed to get some success in other countries like Belgium and Denmark. Before Graffiti6, Scott was the lead singer and songwriter for his band, Jamie Scott and The Town. They only released one album in 2007 titled Park Bench Theories, and it had a contemporary acoustic pop sound that’s in line with what Scott’s solo work sounds like now.

Scott signed with Virgin Records last year, and even though he was busy writing all of this music for other artists, he still found time to write and record his debut solo album. My Hurricane, set for release through digital outlets on October 7, is shaping up to possibly be some of the best music that Scott has been a part of. Though there isn’t too much to go on yet, two singles from the album have debuted - ‘Unbreakable’ and ‘My Hurricane.’ ‘Unbreakable’ is an acoustic lighthearted love song, while the title track and lead single is much more upbeat pop song with a soaring chorus. Scott has the tunes to make waves in the U.S. - especially after the takeover that Ed Sheeran has done recently. America can use another UK crooner ruling their soil, and a One Direction show is the best place for something like that to begin.
