Grace & Frankie creator Marta Kauffman admits Miley's Twitter endorsements have really helped the show pick up ratings, and as a result, Netflix bosses have commissioned another run for 2016.

Confirming the good news for fans of the comedy, which launched on 8 May (15), Kauffman says, "Let me say, it's so awesome to do a show on Netflix because two and a half weeks after we launched, Miley Cyrus does a tweet about your show, and they call and say, 'We'd like to do a season two'.

"So yes, there is a season two. We have Ted (Sarandos - Netflix's Chief Content Officer) and Miley to thank."

Cyrus, whose godmother is Fonda and Tomlin's 9 to 5 co-star Dolly Parton, gave the show a huge boost on 25 May (15), when she tweeted, "I found my show! #GraceandFrankie... On a bender! Jane & Lily are so bad a$$!"

In the show, Fonda and Tomlin play two wives who become friends when their husbands, played by Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston, reveal they are gay and announce plans to get married.
