Janet Jackson has been forced to postpone plans to tour Japan - blaming the current downturn in the global economy.
The Nasty hitmaker was due to play five shows in the country in February (09), including gigs in Osaka and Nagoya, but now the concerts have been put on hold, according to Japanese promoter Kyodo Yokohama.
The cancellations are the latest live dates Jackson has pulled out of - a string of shows in Jackson's first world tour in almost seven years had to be rescheduled in late 2008 after the star suffered from a bout of vertigo. Further dates were also cancelled reportedly as a result of low ticket sales.
New Japan dates are expected to be announced in March (09).
