Jackson was due to begin the tour later this month.
Janet Jackson has postponed all of the UK and European dates of her Unbreakable tour, which was due to begin in Birmingham on March 30th. Fans were informed of the cancellation this morning via an email from Ticketmaster and have been offered a full refund on purchased tickets.
Janet Jackson has postponed her Unbreakable tour in the UK.
The email read: “The event organisers have been in touch to let us know that, due to scheduling difficulties, they’ve had to postpone The ‘Unbreakable’ Tour at the following venues.” It then lists all the UK venues, before adding that they could not confirm new date at the present time, so full refunds were being given.
In January Jackson cancelled a string of dates in North America after having to undergo emergency surgery. She told fans at the time: “Hey you guys… Happy Holidays to each and every one of you. I need you to know, I learned today, from my doctors that I must have surgery soon.”
“It breaks my heart to tell you that I am forced to postpone the 'Unbreakable Tour' until the spring. Every date will be rescheduled. Please hold on to your tickets. They will be honored in a special way when the new schedule is announced.”
“Please pray for me, my family and our entire company during this difficult time. There will be no further comment. I love you all so much and am ever grateful for your understanding and your love. Gon' b alright.”
She was later forced to deny rumours she had been diagnosed with cancer, writing on Instagram: "The rumours are untrue. I do not have cancer. Im recovering. My doctors have approved my concerts as scheduled in Europe, and as I promised, the postponed shows will be rescheduled. Thank you for your prayers and love."
Jackson had been in Europe since mid-February preparing for the upcoming shows and had shared a video from London telling fans, "I am so excited. We cannot wait to perform for you.” She was last seen making a rare public appearance during Paris Fashion Week at the Haider Ackermann show.
