Janet Jackson was given her first glimpse of drugs as a child when she saw clubbers in New York snorting cocaine.
The singer/actress visited the Big Apple as a youngster to see her elder brother, pop superstar Michael, during breaks from her work on TV show Good Times.
Jackson admits she would go to famed Manhattan nightspot Studio 54 when she was just 10 years old and that is where she first saw drugs being used.
She tells U.S. TV host Anderson Cooper, "(I) used to go to (Studio) 54 a lot. I would be on hiatus from Good Times and my mother said, 'What do you want to do?' and I would say, 'I want to go to New York and visit Mike'.
"I was 10... at 54 dancing. You know it was the first time I ever saw drugs. I couldn't figure out why people were putting flour up their nose. I thought that was the stupidest (sic) thing."
