Jared Followill has married Martha Patterson.

The 'Kings Of Leon' rocker - who popped the question to the model last April after just a few months of dating - confirmed the news on his twitter just hours before the couple walked down the aisle on Saturday (29.09.12)

He wrote: ''Today, I get married. It's the biggest step I've ever taken. I've dreamed about this day since I was a little girl.''

Martha also confirmed their nuptials were taking place. She tweeted: ''Marrying my best friend today. I'm the luckiest girl in the world.''

Earlier this week a source close to the couple revealed they were planning a low-key wedding.

The source said: ''They're excited and a bit nervous. They've dreamed up a family affair with homespun and rustic details. Jared picked the perfect woman to settle down with.''

The 25-year-old bassist proposed in Nashville with a four-carat cushion-cut diamond, set on a diamond band, which he designed himself.

Jared's brother and bandmate Nathan is currently expecting his first child with wife Jessie Baylin, while their other sibling Caleb - the group's singer - and his wife Lily Aldridge welcomed daughter Dixie Pearl into the world in June.
