Jared Leto as the Joker - I was into it from the word "go," but now we even have a first look picture to get the online convo going. The actor's look for Suicide Squad calls back to an earlier Joker from the comic book universe.

Jared LetoWhere is Jared?

The square hairdo and blurry, 80s-looking filter add a nice arty touch, but the camera Leto is holding seems to call back to one of the character's most iconic covers -The Killing Joke. It's one of the few origin stories for the Joker. The pic was tweeted on Thursday by Suicide Squad director David Ayer, who added the hashtag #whereisjared.

Right here, of course.

Just a day earlier, Ayer tweeted the first cast photo, featuring everyone from Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn) to Will Smith (Deadshot) to Cara Delevingne (Enchantress) and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Killer Croc). Everything looked great, except that fans quickly noticed the conspicuous absence of Leto. So was the second photo addressed to the concerned fans? Well, hopefully that can calm the storm of @replies Ayer must have received in the wake of the first photo.

So um... are we getting a Killing Joke-inspired plot then? The release is scheduled for August 2016, but given Warner Bros' modus operandi, we'll probably get a few more insights into the story until then.
