Jason Bateman was so desperate to star in 'The Change-Up' after reading The Script he immediately emailed the producers and begged to be in the comedy movie.
Jason Bateman says 'The Change-Up' script was the "funniest" script he's read.
The 42-year-old actor says he "immediately" sent an email to the producers of his latest movie - which sees him play overworked lawyer Dave, whose life is turned upside down when he wakes up after a drunken night in his best friend Mitch's (Ryan Reynolds) body and vice-versa - because he was so desperate to play both characters.
He said: "I was very excited to read The Script based on the fact I was going to be playing two parts. It's the funniest script I've ever read so when I finished it I immediately emailed the studio and said, 'Please please let me do this movie.'"
The 'Horrible Bosses' star explained he volunteered to shoot a scene in the movie completely naked, rather than wear a robe to cover his modesty, to create a "shocking" comedy moment at the end of a sad scene, but joked it wasn't a "very smart" move because it was such a chilly day.
He added to movies.ie: "It was cold that day so I just needed the one hand to cover things. It was my idea to do it completely naked.
"I had a robe on that was open but it didn't really get done what I was supposed to be doing in that scene, which was to be some kind of shocking comedic relief at the end of a very sad, dramatic scene that Leslie Mann does.
"She did such a great job in that scene I thought I needed to come in with a bit more of a shocking punch at the end.
"So I asked to re-shoot that scene without the robe and that wasn't very smart."
