Jason Bateman will return for a 'Horrible Bosses' sequel.

The 44-year-old star is to reprise his role as advertising executive Nick Hendricks in the follow up to the 2011 comedy movie, and Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis have also signed up to star in a second film in the franchise.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jamie Foxx is in talks to return as Dean ''Mother*****h'' Jones, who acted as a mentor to distressed workers Nick, Dale Arbus (Day) and Kurt Buckman (Sudeikis).

The original motion picture saw the trio conspire to murder their bosses - who were played by Colin Farrell, Jennifer Aniston and Kevin Spacey - but there were mixed results.

The new movie will have a brand new cast of bosses and while Farrell looks unlikely to return for the sequel after his character died in the original movie, there is still an opportunity for Aniston and Spacey to make cameos.

Brett Ratner and Jay Stern will produce the forthcoming project and John Cheng will be executive producer.

Work is expected to start on the film in late summer.
