Australian singer Jason Donovan has credited his children with saving his life, because fatherhood helped him turn his back on drugs for good.
The pop star struggled with a cocaine addiction in the 1990s, but gave up the drug in 2000 when he welcomed his daughter Jemma with his partner, Angela Malloch.
The former Neighbours actor, who is also dad to nine-year-old son, Zach, and expecting another child in March (11), is adamant he would not be alive if he hadn't become a father.
He says, "Having children saved me from drugs. I saw a 'get out' moment and took it. They are the reason I'm here.
"People have moments in their lives when they can change. If you don't embrace those moments, you can spend your life in darkness."
