So there’s SXSW for the hipsters, Coachella for the fashionable crowd… and then there’s the Global Citizen music festival, which has a different vibe altogether. Held in Central Park, the third annual event featured the likes of Beyonce, Jay Z, Alicia Keys, No Doubt, Sting and fun. The star-packed festival is free to attend and sets itself the ambitious goal of “erasing poverty by 2030.”

After their On The Run success, Bey and Jay graced the Central Park stage in honor of a good cause.

So here’s how it works. The acts all performed for free, with brief speeches by the likes of Jessica Alba, Hugh Jackman and Olivia Wilde speaking in between performances. It was an exercise in raising awareness and putting pressure on world leaders to enact more effective policies on equality. Attendees were also encouraged to take the pledge, which would earn them points to put towards VIP entry.

Beyonce gave fans at her Paris concert an extra special treat on Friday night when rapper Nicki Minaj joined her on stage for a rendition of their duet ‘Flawless’. The performance marked the first time the pair had appeared on stage together, despite releasing the duet last month.

Dressed in a patterned Versace leotard and a spiked headpiece, Queen Bey was joined on stage by the diminutive ‘Anaconda’ singer who sported a matched catsuit and high ponytail. The performance closed the Paris concert which was part of Beyonce’s ‘On the Run’ tour with husband Jay-Z.

Beyonce has treated fans to a special look at just what went into making her MTV VMAs performance so spectacular by sharing a backstage video. In the four minute clip, the highs and lows of rehearsals are put on display as Beyonce and her dancers are shown trying to perfect the gruelling routine. First published on her Facebook page, the singer captioned the video, “Flashback Friday! A behind the scenes look at the days leading up to the 2014 MTV VMAs”.

Cue the “no longer On The Run” jokes, as Beyonce and Jay Z are off the hook for their 2013 trip to Cuba. The Treasury Department’s Office of Inspector General  released a nine-page report on Wednesday, detailing its decision that Beyonce Knowles-Carter and Shawn Carter did NOT violate any laws, when they traveled to the country last year to celebrate their wedding anniversary.

It's ok, the Carters got the "all clear" from the treasury department.

In April 2013, the Carters’ trip to Cuba sparked widespread controversy. Because of the US embargo, tourism to the country is permitted only under a special license. Suspicions were raised that the couple’s visit to the island nation was in fact illegal – because the two engaged in recreational activities such as a welcome dinner, a walking tour of various Cuban neighborhoods and visits to see student artwork and theater performances, the couple were accused of violating the terms of their educational exchange permit. The story got such wide coverage, that Jay Z was prompted to pen an open letter to his critics and mention the incident in a song (also titled Open Letter). In the song, the rapper implied that he and Beyonce had received clearance from the POTUS himself, although the White House later denied giving permission. The new report rebuffs all claims that the Carters' trip violated the embargo.

Ok, overly enthusiastic music fans everywhere need to reel it in fast, because this is getting ridiculous. A man reportedly had his finger bitten at Beyonce and Jay Z’s On The Run gig in at the Rose Bowl on Saturday, after he confronted another attendee for groping his girlfriend. Following the bizarre sequence of events, Roberto Alcaraz-Garnica, 25, of San Diego was arrested for sexual battery and mayhem. Here’s how the scuffle allegedly came about.

The power couple have not acknowledged the incident.

“The suspect sexually assaulted the female victim,” Lieutenant John Luna of the Pasadena Police Department told TheWrap Sunday. “The woman's boyfriend confronted the alleged groper, and a fight ensued. During the altercation, the suspect bit the victim, causing serious injury to his finger.”

Rumours that a seperation is imminent have plagued the music power couple for months, ever since that night at the Met Costume Gala when Beyonce's little sister Solange attacked her brother-in-law in a lift. Feeling glum because you didn't manage to get tickets to see Beyoncé and Jay Z present their "On The Run" world tour? Well, worry not: HBO will be bringing the couple's eagerly anticipated live shows to the small screen after taping their two French concerts. While it may not be the same as being there in the throng, HBO's coverage should be the next best thing.

"This is a major musical event that belongs on HBO," said HBO programming president Michael Lombardo. "It's going to be a night to remember," via Variety. HBO announced the exciting news on Thursday (10th July) at the Television Critics Association summer tour.

The footage will reportedly be filmed during the Parisian leg of the tour - the pair's only European appearances - on the 12th and 13th September.

The annual charity event, which will take place on September 27th on the Great Lawn in New York's Central Park, aims to cater for all musical tastes whilst raising awareness of key world issues.

Yes a private show from Chad Kroeger and co will cost you between $1 and $1.5million.

Whoever was in charge of the captioning at last night's BET Awards should hang their head in shame after they misspelled the name of the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement award, Lionel Richie. During the televised coverage of the Black Entertainment Television Awards on Sunday night (29th June), which was watched by millions around the world, the broadcasting team managed to spell Richie's surname as "Ritchie."

Sure, plenty of worse things could have happened, but it's still a pretty embarrassing move considering Richie was practically the guest of honor at the bash. To make matters worse, the mistake flashed on the screen in large lettering as the 65 year-old soul star headed to collect his prize.

Soon the hashtag "#lionelritchie" began trending on Twitter as viewers picked up on the blunder and quickly spread the news leading to embarrassment for the show's production team.

Jay-Z and Beyoncé have divided Justin Bieber fans when they chose to show his mug shot on stage during their joint On The Run tour. The couple performed on the opening night of their tour in Miami on Wednesday (25th June) and some celebrity cameos were projected onto the backdrop of one of Jay-Z's performances.

20-year-old Bieber's photograph was shown in amongst a montage of famous celebrity mug shots including the likes of 50 Cent, Tupac, Robert Downey Jr. and Jay-Z himself. The images were shown during Jay-Z's performance of 'Izzo (H.O.V.A)'. When the music stopped Beyonce appeared on stage to say "Even the greatest can fall."

Beyoncé and Jay Z have kicked off their eagerly-anticipated On The Run world tour in Miami, with an inaugural performance taking place on Wednesday night (25th June). At the Sun Life stadium, the hip-hop couple treated fans to an explosive joint performance and a starry night to remember.

The 'Sweet Dreams' singer's frequent outfit changes were the talk of the evening, with an array of risqué new costumes showcased to dazzling effect. After appearing onstage dressed in a Versace fishnet bodysuit complete with matching balaclava, Bey swapped into a denim playsuit, a Versace leotard and a dominatric-style leather suit.

However, the evening's most widely-shared ensemble was a shining black bathing suit with two holes cut out for buttocks that the star and her backing dancers wore whilst performing the singer's signature booty-shimmy routine.

In a similar fashion to the announcement of Jay Z in 2008, metal titans Metallica’s headline slot at the iconic Glastonbury Festival has been met with a wave of criticism and derision from commentators who have deemed the Metallica’s headline position as both a lazy, predictable booking and one that is incompatible with Glastonbury’s demographic. However, whereas criticism towards Jay Z in the vein of what was unleashed by the Gallagher brothers was a scathing attack on hip hop as a genre, laced with a degree of barely concealed racism, Metallica’s backlash largely stems from elsewhere.

Firstly, this is a band that hasn’t produced an album of any merit for well over a decade and what’s more, considering they were announced long after tickets had sold out, how many of Glastonbury’s middle class bohemians will actually want to watch the band? Metallica have themselves responded to the criticism by announcing they may open their set with a cover of “Wonderwall”, copying Jay Z’s act of protest back in 2008. However, it does appear that Jay Z’s version carried a greater amount of symbolism, given that it was the Gallagher brothers who were the most vocal opponents of his appearance.

Beyoncé and Solange Knowles have been pictured together for the first time since the embarrassing and disturbing bust-up between Beyoncé's little sister and husband Jay Z in an elevator after the Met Gala earlier this month.

Leaked footage showed Solange, who is also a pop star, lashing out at the rapper whilst he shielded himself but did not hit back. The group's bodyguard hit the emergency stop button and hauled Solange away from Jay Z with Beyoncé demurely avoiding the melee.

The Knowles-Carter family have been pictured together in happy photos to reassure their fans that all is well again but Jay Z was a notable absence from last night's Chime For Change event that the two sisters attended together.

Music’s first couple just released the trailer for Run this past Saturday – with no prior warning or promotion, in classic Mr. and Mrs. Carter style.  Solange and Jay-Z appear to have had a disagreement which ended in blows at the beginning of May. The incident occurred the night of the New York Met Gala on Saturday (3rd May) and Solange appears to have attacked Jay-Z in an elevator at the Standard Hotel. Surveillance footage seemingly shows a tuxedo clad Jay-Z being kicked and punched by Solange before the two security men accompanying the pair forcibly hauled Solange away from the rapper. We’re still not sure what the disagreement was about and, although the pair and Beyoncé have released a statement, they did not allude to the reasons behind the fight.

So, this whole Jay Z/Solange thing? We’re still trying to get our heads around it. Beyonce has gone from having the most outwardly perfect family life to being embroiled in some sort of Jerry Spring family feud. Here are the facts. Along with a lot of finger pointing, Beyonce’s little sister, Solange Knowles, launched herself at Jay Z in a lift at the Met Gala. Beyonce calmly stood between the two, while Jay appeared to try talking to the furious Solange, occasionally blocking himself from her attempted blows.

We’re no closer to finding out what really happened between Solange and Jay Z at the Met Gala, although the famous family have released a statement regarding the incident. Beyonce addressed the physical altercation, which saw her sister Solange attack her husband Jay Z in a lift after the Met Ball.

Dash and Roy soon became close and in 1999 their daughter Ava was born. However Dash was also in a relationship with singer Aaliyah at the tine which continued until her untimely death in 2001.

The story of how Solange Knowles attacked Jay Z after the Met Gala was bizarre enough on its own, but it sounds even stranger since Rihanna’s name was mentioned. According to the New York Daily News, the younger Knowles sister lashed out at her brother in law after he said he was going to Rihanna’s after party without his wife. Apparently the tension had been brewing for a while, but it boiled over when Solange, Beyonce and Jay Z entered the now infamous Standard Hotel elevator.

They had to do it, just had to. Following weeks of speculation and radio silence on their end, Beyonce and Jay Z have finally announced their joint summer tour dates. The powerhouse couple are planning to go on a 16-city On the Run tour, and tickets have already been made available to a select few. Members of Beyonce’s fan club will be the first to be able to purchase tickets starting Tuesday, April 29 at 8 a.m., followed by Chase debit and credit customers at 10 a.m.

The biggest couple in music are uniting for the summer tour of all summer tours.

According to Variety, Jay and Bey’s Run will start in Miami, at the Sun Life Stadium on June 25^th. They will close the tour with a gig in San Francisco – August 5^th at AT&T Park. The general public will have their shot at the tickets on Friday, May 2 through Live Nation’s website and mobile app.

'Computerized' is a track that sounds more like the old, purely electro Daft Punk, with their vocoders and sterile synths, rather than their new disco direction, as heard on Random Access Memories.

What makes a celebrity a celebrity? It's an age old question which seems to become more abstract and contorted as time goes on.

George Zimmerman, apparently, is a celebrity. Or so his promised participation in a celebrity boxing match would suggest!

Blue Ivy had a birthday that most of us could only dream of when she turned two-years-old earlier this month and on top of celebrating the her birthday in a completely rented-out zoo, she also got a special gift from Uncle Kanye West.

The rapper and close friend of Blue's father Jay-Z wanted to give the infant something special and personal as a gift, so he composed an original lullaby for her. According to TMZ, Beyonce and Jay rented out Jungle Island, a wildlife park and botanical garden in Miami, with a handful of close friend and family in attendance for the special occasion. It was later reported by the Daily Star that Kanye decided tone down on the bass-heavy, manic beats found in his acclaimed 2013 album Yeezus for his latest track, as he wrote Blue Ivy a personal lullaby for her birthday. We can only imagine what kind of gift his own daughter, North West, will get when she celebrates her first birthday this summer.

The couple closed down an entire theme park on Tuesday (7th January) so they could take Blue Ivy round unobserved by the public, according to TMZ. They also invited a group of select friends with who to share the experience.

Jungle Island in Miami was the zoo in question, a park which holds a wide variety of exotic animals and exhibitions. Unfortunately, as Blue Ivy is two, is seems unlikely much of the expensive and exclusive experience will remain with her. We suspect the zoo may have been hired primarily for her parent's entertainment!

After saying yes, Beyoncé celebrated Jay Z's proposal to her with a trip to a strip club. Despite being notoriously secretive in regards to her relationship with the '99 Problems' rapper - going as far as to not confirm their 2008 secret wedding - the 'XO' hitmaker has now revealed that Jay Z proposed to her on his birthday; 4th December, 2007. Since she dropped the bomb on Thursday, Beyonce has occupied thousands of terabytes of data transfer with her new album. People are naturally baffled. Yes, we all know Beyonce is pretty much amazing, but even for her, it was an astounding feat. The woman, who opened 2013 by performing at the Inauguration, then went on to do the Super Bowl halftime show to end all halftime shows, went on a 123-show tour, took care of her little girl and still managed to record a 14-track album, film a video for each track and somehow keep the production team behind the entire escapade from breathing a word to anyone.

The 2014 Grammy Awards will take place in January 2014, with the full list of nominees being revealed over the weekend. Rapper Jay Z announced the news today, his birthday, via a blog post entitled '22 Day Challenge' which laid out his intentions.

A day before its official release date, the latest single from Beyonce has found its way online to be listened to in full and is the latest in a long line of singles released this year by the singer, none of which have yet been given a home on an album yet. Titled 'God Made You Beautiful,' the song made its way on to YouTube on Sunday, 24 November, a day before the planned release date.

Hip hop superstar Jay Z has revealed that when he first began dating Beyonce, he had to work incredibly hard as she was ''not impressed'' by him. The rapper, 43, found he had to go traditional with his wooing attempts for the 'Halo' singer when they began dating, confessing that in order to get close, he had to properly ''wine and dine'' her.

The couple both appeared on the 2001 Music Issue of 'Vanity Fair', and Jay Z commented that: ''We were just beginning to try to date each other. Well, you know, you've got to try first. You got to dazzle ... wine and dine.'' The couple have been together since, and now have a daughter - Blue Ivy - who is approaching two years old. Beyonce and Jay Z are still enjoying their successful careers since marrying secretly in 2008.

Three albums in and Drake has firmly found his place within the rap world. Not only does his latest record, Nothing Was The Same, deliver a self-assured sound and confident lyrics but it also marks a turning point for the rapper as he looks back and muses upon his rise to fame.

Drake Delivers A Solid Third Effort.

The album's lead single 'Started From The Bottom' is the most obvious rags-to-riches tune. Suitably anthemic for radio, the rap delivers some incisive lyrics about fame and fortune and has also had a rather funny music video released alongside.
